Need help with seedling

Hi,

I'm growing 3 Durban Poison babies and I was shocked at how well they've done as I'm in a country with not a lot of sun, but they've been growing like they're on steroids for the past 2 weeks. Very pleased.
However 1 of them I keep finding leaning all the way down to almost touching the pot. I've put two sticks up now to hold the stem, but I'm just wondering if that will be enough. Or if you think it may be a different problem? I will attach some pictures.
Do you think they all look healthy?
Thanks in advance!

P.S. I know it looks like the cactus is touching it but I promise it's not.

They aren't getting enough light that's why they are stretching to find it.
Thank you for the speedy response. Yes I was thinking the same, however the other two would have done the same in that case, no? They are by a window and seem to get a lot of light. Of course I know marijuana plants in specific thrive off a lot of light so I don't doubt it.
But I don't want to put them under lights as when these are a bit older they are going outside for the summer. I've heard it can be a shock for the plant to go from artificial light into the sun?

Durban poison is a taller grower and thst short one may be a different phenotype or as previously noted they could use more light. If you want to keep your seedlings from getting limp necks like that in the future use a small oscillating fan on them . Toughens up the stalks

Thanks so much. Think I'll buy a small fan for them then, their stems definitely need toughening up. Do you think I can put them under a CFL or LED light for now even although they're going to be outdoor grows?

Yes absoloutly.. Dont waste the time while waiting to put them out. Get them under lights and fattening up. They will be strong and ready to go.

I know its kinda early to transplant already, but I would put them in deeper pots and bury them to within an inch from the bottom leaves and then get them under some lights ASAP.

Transplanting will reduce the risk of them falling over and breaking their stem. It will also encourage root growth on the delicate stem that is now buried in dirt.

A deeper pot makes sense, I actually didn't think of that. I'm only worried that I'll be transplanting too soon and hurt them as they already seem weak. I'll check tomorrow and go with instinct. If I feel I can take them out without worries I'll do just that.
Thanks so much :)

There is a lot of "going with your gut feeling" when growing and a lot of trial and error. Cannabis plants are a very hardy plant but they can sometimes die at the drop of a hat and it sucks but it happens. Just use your best judgement and learn from your mistakes as they arise and they will especially if you get into more advanced growing techniques that push the plants to their limits. I think you are on the right path though, sleep on it tonight and re-evaluate the plants in the morning.

Yes exactly, I did a ton of research so that I could do "everything right", only to come across a website that said a common mistake was just that. Overthinking it and doing what everyone online says isn't always the best solution, instead go with what you think and it's probably the most rational. But I definitely agree the stem needs strengthening up, alongside more light, and will debate more tomorrow whilst I check on them.

Thanks again and have a lovely rest of your day :)

Get a light over them. I've grown DP a few times, they'll get tall...TALL... and lanky, without it. Look into "hardening off", to acclimate them to outdoors when you're ready.

Really? I know they get tall but didn't realise they get THAT tall. I'll definitely get some lights on them. And yes, thank you, I read about hardening off and will have to do that as I can tell these babies are asking for more light.
Since I know you've personally grown DP can I ask how much yield/grams you got from one plant? I know it varies with each strain, so online research doesn't tell me much. Their final transfer pot will either be 3 or 5 gallon. Most likely 3.
Thanks in advance :)

Asking that question only leads to disappointment. But yeah, everything that has been said on this thread so far is accurate. Lights, reporting deeper, fans, etc. For future reference whenever I start plants I usually place a cfl bulb 2 inches above them to prevent stretching until there's enough nodes to top. Even if you are just going to put them outside.

If you're going outside, go with 5 gals. I was getting an avg. of 4z per plant, but I never grew them big, I had to worry about stealth at that time, they were usually 3-4ft tall at the end. If you have room to grow 6ft+ plants, I think you could pull a decent amount. They'll easily double in size when they go into flower, have stakes ready, they(should) end up with large, mainly single, colas on each branch.

Yeah you're right, I'll just have to see. It's irrelevant how much I get anyway, the experience of growing is what I'm enjoying most right now.
Thanks for your help so far, but I was an idiot today. I fixed everything but the main problem. I got a grow light and have put them in a space with more breeze, BUT. If you're willing to look at my newer thread you'll see I've just run into the same problem through my lack of focus. https://www.rollitup.org/t/help-with-seedlings-and-stem-length.942546/#post-13586708

The only issue is 5 gals is a little big due to the country I'm in, I can't let it be super obvious. My garden's very private anyway so I may attempt 5 gals. But jeeze, 4oz a plant is more than enough for me. I won't live up to that expectation of course, but I like the sound of it. I'm down for single colas too
Thanks for the info

You'll see a HUGE difference when you do get um transplanted and start getting more light on um. What I do is ease them under brighter lights. Such as if I have my seedlings under 100 to 200 watts of CFLS I then place them under my 1,000 watt MH for 2 hours (watching them of course) one day, then the second I see if they can handle 3, then so on.

I actually transplanted them into a bigger pot today even though they're only 2-3 weeks old. Not sure if it was the right thing to do but I'm going with it. Practice makes perfect. Yeah! I've seen that when you transplant it into the final pot near the flowering stage it DOUBLES in height, which is crazy. Very excited.
Ahhh okay. So it's kind of like allowing them to sit in the hot sun for an hour, checking to see how it's done, then increase.
Putting my LED up for the first time tomorrow, what distance do you think I should put it from my tall-ass seeds?

Plastic 5 gallon bucket will do the trick no problem.
Just drill or bust some drain holes in the bottom.
If stealth is a factor just bury the pot in your garden.
Also rectangle pots are pretty awesome and they're generally very short but really wide.
