why not just grow vertically without a reflector??
that is my plan...ive set up a stadium grow and im relizing that my plants could benfit from my lights going up and down...i have two rack's with four levels growing vertical on each rack...now i wont to make the light's go up and down for best result's....

still don;t get it. sorry to be stupid. if you hang the light vertically at the right height and have mylar on the ceiling how can moving the light vertically increase the amount of light in any stadium grow? i just am not visualizig the angles right, i guess.

i geuss you would be right but i plan to make it more vertical and not so much v shape so moving the light up and down to hit everinch of the plant, so you think that i dont neeed it

i thought a stadium grow was a v shape by definition. i think the reason you would use a v shape is to present the maximum amount of the plant to the most amount of direct light. this is what lets you keep the light in one place. otherwise, i think you're right and you would need light mover.

Okay - I love a good problem! Let's get to the solution. First of all, I have three questions:
1. How far up and down are you talking about?
2. How much actual weight are you dealing with?
3. Approx. what elapsed time do you figure for each cycle?

2,1/2ft up and down, two 1kw lights so about25 to 40lbs to be safe. i would like the timing to be somthing like a light mover is now from side to side..so stop for a couple sec on each side...a dc motor running a pulley sysmtem thatwould work fine, someone told me to use a pwm switch or somthing, for the timming i just dont know where i can get one of these on things???
