Stick with your see through cups, but wrap some dark paper/plastic bag round cups, - your roots will grow quicker and you just unwrap now n again to check roots..! Hope this helps.. btw plants are looking good.!

I'm following you in hopes learning myself..looks great i'm a week or so behind you..
Looks like quite a bit more than a week behind me... My plants looked like that within a few days of sprouting.
My soil is half ocean forest and happy frog, as Jozikins suggested earlier. Also got the maxsea line he mentioned as well. I added 6tbsp of mykos to the soil, 6tbsp to 3 gallons. They are currently putting out the 6th and 7th node, but the 5th node is still the main contender. Should i wait till the 6th node is full and the 7th and 8th node are working out their from the 6th node to top? I feel Like They aren't growing that vigorously, but then again I've never done this. I do feel Like They could use that feeding, but at what strength? Half? They Will need to be watered in about a day or two so id like to know before then. Ill top within the next few days, and i just gave them a feeding, 1/2 tbsp to 3 quarts of water. Ill be sure to take pictures. I know i asked when to top, but what about where? Down to the 3rd? 2nd?
I have them currently in 1 gallon pots actually, and i would Like to use a 5 gallon pot as the end pot size. I want to keep the plants pretty small. One day id like to try growing a monster, but that's not today. I should be getting my seeds tomorrow, both autoflower strains. Im hoping for a lot of knowledge from you veteran growers as these seeds actually cost money, and the ones growing right now are just seeds someone gave me.
Some do that, but I don't. If those are at 7 nodes now, I would top at 5. And I top as often as the growth will bear. After the new tops grow out 6-9 inches, I top them again. I keep on topping until they are near flower.
I've never grown auto's, so I won't be much help to you there. But there are many on here who have.

And they got here as expected! I ordered the pineapple express and the auto BlackBerry kush, the other two came free.
5 gallon pots are pretty small and your plants will get pretty root bound. You may also have issues with them blowing over in a moderate wind if you don't support them properly. I do recommend you consider the 7.5 or 10 gallon pots for the increase in soil, and the stability of a wider base. The plants will still be a very manageable size for you. Ultimately it's totally your choice but I figured you wouldn't mind a little free advice based on experience.
I didn't think about the wind factor. Ill look more into the 7.5 and 10 gallon pots and will probably go with them to be safe. Thank you for that advice, all is welcomed.
