New to DWC, here’s my grow!

Here’s an update on her. Ppm’s are at 330 and Ph is at 5.8. She looks real good I think. Roots are starting to show at the bottom of the net pot . I have one 6in fan blowing on her and I leave the exhaust fan off for now to build up the humidity in the room because with it on it doesn’t get above 50%. Once she gets bigger I’ll turn on the fan. I have 2-3 ice cold bottles in the res to keep water temp down, and also wrapped the bucket in duct tape. I added more hydroton to the top to block any open areas I had.

I was wondering if the middle of the plant is doing ok. I feel it’s a little on the bright side of green than the rest of the plant. If any of you guys see anything that looks wrong I’d appreciate the info!

Thanks everyone
They look great so far. Good job!

Don't get helbent on humidity, I grow in 30-50% and I never have humidity issues. i would take low over high, as @rkymtnman suggested, the canopy will create the humidity. Guessing @rkymtnman is in Colorado, im in calgary...we have the same proximity to he rocky mountains, but his winters are milder. When its vacay time, I want 80-90% 8-)

Got a quick question for you guys. I checked my res this morning and when I went to swap out the ice bottles my water has obviously gone down. With the bottles in there tho the water level is right at the net pot and maybe even touching.

My question is do I still have to top it off or is that only if your notice that the nutes are decreasing. 7 days will be on Sunday when I plan on doing a full res change .

Since you’re using ice bottles to cool your Rez it means you’re worried about rot. Let the water level drop 2 inches below bottom of pots and keep them there, this helps prevent rot because most rot starts in the pots.

Simple way to do it. The plant tells you. If the leaves start getting light in color you need more PPM.
FFC24F91-0470-49A7-A652-5A6963B5D564.jpeg Would you consider the middle of the plant to be starting to get on the light color? Or is this more of a natural color. Again sorry for the questions just trying to figure out if I’m on the right track.

So I just checked my Res ppm and I’m getting 390 and on the run off which is where I usually test ppm’s and ph I’m getting 380. Im assuming thats a good sign meaning that the plant is taking in the nutes.

I’m also thinking of topping her but I feel it might be to early yet. But if its
Not would I top her at the point I have marked 98827AC1-C907-4EF7-8ED7-1D9023A1EEB9.jpeg

you can..... Just get some magnifying glasses if you have one so you can accurately cut it right. If you miss (FIM) Oh well it will still work.

Are you measuring ppms on the x500 scale or x700?

E.C is a more direct way to measure, but I use x700.

Early veg you need little nutrients if your water temp isn’t too high and your pH is in range. Try shooting for 6.1-6.3 in veg. I save the 5.8 for flower. 300-500ppms will actually get you further into veg then you would think

One last point with ppms... your source water makes a huge difference. My previous comment about 300-500ppms assumes you’re using RO water or very close to 0ppm. If your source water has 100-200ppms(calcium carbonate, chlorine, etc.) you cannot assume that it will perform the same as 100-200ppms of nutrients

Here’s an update. It was a rough one yesterday, I noticed while playing COD with a headset on that the closet was quieter than usual. Well the air pump shit the bed and started leaking into the tent. So had to buy a new air pump ( thank god I live close to a store) and then had to clean up the tent and do a Res change.

She is currently sitting at about 400 ppms and 6.0ph. She looks good so hoping nothing major happened but we’ll find out.

I topped her about a. Week ago and now starting to see new growth come in. Going to let it really ramp up on growth before I top again. She’s on the short side but she is a indica.

Here’s a pic of her inside the tent, I’ll take better ones later today. I also started LST’ing her a little to shed some more light deep inside.FE3190C9-E66D-4D54-B839-D506B5D7EF71.jpegA722C269-ECFC-4030-9291-0CAB5A4439F0.jpeg

Air pumps should always be elevated so that it doesn't gravity drain if the pump fails

Hey guys, so I got rid of her bigger fan leaves and gave her a topping today! Very nervous to top! But I think I did a good job for my first time ever

The Res Ppm’s are at 410 and the run off water that I test is also 410. PH is at 6.1, she looks healthy but I’m surprised that she’s not really soaking in to many nutrients at her stage. I’m guessing she really doesn’t need them quite yet. Here are some pics of her and where she is at now.88B4FC81-9CD5-4A43-AF4A-CB59BAD42835.jpeg4AEDEEBD-0332-4AAD-B280-AEF77AFA6D47.jpeg Let me know if anything seems off to you guys and if she’s right on track.

Thanks guys.
