New to DWC, here’s my grow!

Just topped her off with PH water until my res change on Sunday. Ppm’s dropped to about 380 after top off which is because of the PH only water. Going to see how she likes that until I change res. Hard to LST her right now cuz how small branches are

Kinda wish I never topped the main cola so young cuz now she’s a shorty. She’s only in week 3-4 of veg, can’t remember lol. Going to let her go another 2-3 weeks of veg so she fills out more and maybe gets a little taller at the new colas, then I’ll swap her to flower.

she’s sitting at 6.1ph and still around 450ppms. Roots look nice and white and are starting to reach into the res.

Just checked her This Morning and the the ph was ABOUT 6.2 so I lowered down to 5.7 and checked the ppm’s before work and they were floating right around 450’s.
Not sure if someone else mentioned it, but just a little tip about ph that a lot of new growers get wrong.

You absolutely do not want to constantly be micro-managing it. Only adjust when it's on the high side or low side of your range.

The reason being that different nutrients are absorbed at different ph levels, so you want to allow it to drift within a specified window.

Hey guys, so I got rid of her bigger fan leaves and gave her a topping today! Very nervous to top! But I think I did a good job for my first time ever

The Res Ppm’s are at 410 and the run off water that I test is also 410. PH is at 6.1, she looks healthy but I’m surprised that she’s not really soaking in to many nutrients at her stage. I’m guessing she really doesn’t need them quite yet. Here are some pics of her and where she is at now.View attachment 4631183View attachment 4631185 Let me know if anything seems off to you guys and if she’s right on track.

Thanks guys.
Someone else mentioned something that is pretty important that you may have missed.

What is the PPM of your source water? If you aren't accounting for that, it could make a big difference.

While your plant may not necessarily be starving, it certainly may not be getting the optimal amount of nutrients.

I let the PH sit anywhere from 5.8-6.5 if she is in that range I don’t touch it. My source water sits at around 150 ppms. I just did a res swap and have her ppms sitting at 520 range now, going to see how she likes it here and if I notice she needs more I’ll add or take away.

Is she still at an early stage to kick her over to flower at the end of this week? DC5DC638-213A-4D10-88BE-649A517261C2.jpeg126C8360-A498-44F5-9D68-29BC57CA9E06.jpeg
I know she won’t get much taller because I topped her.

depends how long you're willing to wait for a harvest
bigger veg = more bud infrastructure

you might want to buy some of that green training wire from lowes if you want to widen her out/tie her down
starting out i find the training wire more effective than a net

i'm just growing 1 monster in a 2x4

Ya I have a ton of the wire been training her to spread out more. I might swap her over this weekend coming up.

she's looking happy!
you might want to flatten her up some more to get as much width as your space allows
she'll blast off during transition so height probably wont be an issue

Here’s some recent pics. She’s nice and healthy and I’ve been tying her down more. Trying to flatten the canopy more. I think on Sunday I’m going to swap her to flower. She’s about 5 weeks in give of take. 33FF2589-2479-4EC7-A6F5-4AAC70F1A7CC.jpegA564A0C9-1C2E-451F-A8A1-FE4560E5A802.jpeg60D1CD70-B0F7-43C4-882E-524641237295.jpeg

Ya I’ve been adding more ties everywhere. Trying to flatten the canopy as possible. I have more ties on the way cuZ I’m almost out. But I’ll porb swap her to flower this weekend.

some of the stems aren’t super thick which worries me but I think she’ll be fine.

When transitioning to flower do I immediately up the nutrients or do I need it to be a progression? I just swapped her to flower today and I have her ppms at 850 with my faucet water having 150ppms on its own

Here’s a pic of her Day 1 of flower. PPM’s 860- P.H 6.0 going to see how she does in this range and see what happens. Is the lighter green in the middle normal when transitioning to flower?AFB6897D-61FC-4753-8186-DD892EA1B904.jpeg

DAY 5 of Flower: Sorry for the non natural light photo. Took these before bed. I’ll take natural light tomorrow.

Ppm’s about 1100 with sink water having 150ppm of its own. PH 5.8. Shes liking where the nutes are now. No signs of mute burn. She’s Drinking about a gallon of water every 2 days.

When I start to see some white pistols I’ll swap her over to more bloom nutes, then I really get to see her go.

She’s at about 1 week of flower. How long does it take before you start to see white hairs showing up? She’s has gotten much taller for sure.

TheGreek,

Thanks for sharing your first grow. I am about a month behind you, and all the advice you are getting from the great people on this forum is extremely helpful.

Looking forward to seeing the rest of your grow!
