Hi there im in wales in the uk, i have a indoor grow set up which has done me 2 crops which i grew from cuttings i produced a decent yeild and i know the basics to growing from cuttings, however i have just ordered 5 feminised onyz autoflowers so i was looking for a bit of help with seeds as i have never used seeds before, i have a 1.2x1.2x1.8m grow tent with a 600w light good ventilation and circulation (3 fans) previously i used 10 litre pots so i was wondering if these were ok for seeds, also i was wondering what soil and nutrients, before i used canna coco plus soil and canna coco nutrients would these be ok for the autos and is the anything else i need because its from seed, i think thats pretty much it for now cheers guys

first you will have to Germinate the seeds there many different methods but have a look on here and pick one that suits you . i use rock-wool cubes or jiffy pellets for staring the seeds for the sprouting stage then i would use a smaller pot for the veg stage and transplant into your 10 liter pots for the flowering stage. there's loads of different ways around it but it comes down to whatever your find the best.
your cana nutrients will be ok but growing autos have a smaller feeding schedule i would check with the seed company for the best advice hope this helps

10l pots will work for autos. You're straight on lighting. My advice would be to listen to mears about feeding and make sure you trim the fan leaves to provide proper light to the colas that will grow from the first and second sets of fan leaves. I usually trim when I'm confident the colas are established on their own and are about to grow into the fan leaf above it. I wouldn't transplant autos, just my personal preference. I think it shocks the root system.

Don't trim off the fan leaves... Getting light to the cola does not promote growth, getting light to the leaves does. Cutting them off is counter productive.

to each his own, just sharing my experience. I've found this works well for my autos and regularly grow them netting an avg of 1.5 oz per plant. Not bad for an auto.

Thanks for the info, i am really iffy on how to plant the seed as it is something i have never done before and i dont want to mess them up, how far above the plants should my 600w light be, at the moment it is close to the ceiling on my 1.8m tent, i think i am pretty much sorted now though seeds should arrive tomorrow and cant wait to try autoflowers

i wouldn't use the 600w straight away for the seedlings let them come through with a few cfls for about a weeks or two and as soon as they get there first set of leaves then put them under the hps but i don't no that much i'm just going off what i have read on other threads

why are you mixing soil and coco....why not just coco...........ever thought of doing 12-12 from seed with a reg strain?

well still no seeds as of today, which should mean they will definatly be here tomorrow, i am still unclear on a few things thow, some people say that my 600w is to much to start seedlings an some say its fine, and also how do i actually plant the seed lol so many ways i just dont know the easiest and most effective, i have decided to just stick with what i know in terms of soil and nutes i am going to be using coco canna plus soil canna part a + b nutes and pk13/14 booster(do i need this with autoflowers)???? any extra help on these matters wud be great please guys

just have to watch the plant doesnt dry out to much before it gets some roots down under a 600.......i germ mine in a plastic container between wet kitchen towel and put in warm dark place.......then when they pop i plant them tail down in the coco........

Im also in the UK growing autoflowers and your 10 ltr pots should be ok as they dont tend to grow too high. I have no experience with coco as I just use soil (John Innes No2) and germinate seeds in a paper towel before planting directly into to its grow pot. No transplanting needed for autoflowers only stresses them out. I leave mine for a week in the porch to establish then they go under the lights on 20/4 schedule. Nutes start on 3rd week of growth (i use canna terra flores) at 1/4 strength for week 3, 1/2 strengh for week 4 then onto full strength for 5 onwards.
This may not be the best way, but it works for me for my personal grow.

you can just plant the seed if you want to but to germinate you can lay a couple of paper towels in a container wet the paper towels(dont drench them) then put 2 more paper towels on top of the seed close the container and put in a dark place check in 24 hours. when the seeds break the shell and u see the tap root plant with the root down and water hope that helps i also have an auto short rider and it is living up to its name its tiny
