Sorry knowm, I'm getting confused with the natural gas in the ocean. It is thought that this replenishes itself regularly enough for us to take as much as we like.

Don't be surprised though, if this isn't said about the oil. Where it is collected in one place the scientists could claim it is collecting in another.
Skunky, I can see your bias, Didn't you say you didn't own an automobile. You're arguing with the largest group of SUV owners on the planet. I myself own one, my vacation vehicle. It is a late model 4 door full size pickup. I average about 3500 miles a year. Most people in the states average about 20,000 from their commute to work. My truck gets 19MPG on the highway @ 75 MPH with 4-5 people and the bed loaded with vacation supplies. Thats not Hybrid range, but pretty good for a full size SUV. I've done a couple of modifications to the fuel system to achieve those #s. I realize that if I gave up my SUV and took a greyhound to vacation spots, I might save a few Hydrocarbons, but when I got to the spot, I'd need to travel to the sights, travel to the restuarants etc. So I'd either be renting an automobile, or relying on some sort of taxi service. So in my case, the least expensive and most practical mode of travel is my Pickup. BTW, it only gets 12MPG in city driving, rather dismal. I also have a Hot Rod, with a disgusting 500 HP drag racing motor in it, so far, I have less than 1 mile on it. It will see 1/4 mile sprints and an occasional car show, Not a real gross polluter. I am not the greenest of people, but compared to the average commuter with 20,000+ miles a year, I'm greener than most. BTW, If you get a car, get an American car, as the british cars aren't that good~LOL~

I love driving and I love cars, unfortunately I also used to like driving while high as a kite. Luckily they don't do drug tests in my country so I only got done for drink driving. I am a banned driver, as soon as I'm not I'll buy another car. I sold my last car as it would have been too tempting to just drive it. I do catch a lot of taxis as I hate the bus, I actually call the buses peasant carriers.

It really is irrelevant the fact that I don't own a car at the moment. I'm not biased because I haven't got a car, I'm biased because I want a cleaner world for my children.

The only trouble with an american car is the parts, I like to do my own repairs (within reason), and the parts for an american model would be extremely difficult to get. I'd love a hummer, the type of car other road users have to get out of its way.

I don't know what the anti-pollution laws for vehicles are in Briton, but if you got an old chevy V-8 powered car, you can order any replacement part from a catalog like Summit, and have a kick ass ride. My nova will go from naught to 60 in under 4 seconds, 1/4 mile in around 11 seconds @ 125 MPH. Definently get your adreneline flowing. Hell, I could even buy you a car here and arrange shipping, With that large roll of cash you'll have after your crops come in. Just kidding, BTW hows the crop thing going?

Okay. thanks for asking med'. I've moved up a level now and am growing the bubbler method. Amazing results, and no medium apart from water.

Whay about yourself, still growing (cannabis)?

Well, I'm trying, but have fucked over my latest grow trying to balance the PH and Nutes so Bad I think I'll have to start over. They were going great until I got my PH meter and PPM meters in and started fucking with them, I think they are shite now. I'm waiting for the correct PH balancer solution before I try and grow again, Meanwhily they are just sitting there looking pitiful. I read to bring PH down use vinegar, but something isn't right and they look fried. My water is 650 PPM out of the tap, so I added 600 PPm of ferts and it fried them. I dont want to be buying distilled water all the time as you.ve got to change the water every 2 weeks. I'm also waiting on a pump to pump the water out of the bubbler as it's a giant pain in the ass to bail it out with a bucket, so I'll probably scrap these plants and start over when I get all the right stuff. I asked on the grow site why my water was 650PPm but no-one answered. I'm thinking it is the chlorine, and Nev. has extreme hard water. I've got an RO system for drinking water bu it's too small for growing. And there you have it, a failed bubbler grow! They were going crazy the first week, but I screwed it up!

Med ...

You can order a six stage RO unit on Ebay for around $150. Here's the one I have ... and you can get them cheaper than this: http://cgi.ebay.com/AQUA-SAFE-MAXIMUS-MAX-REVERSE-OSMOSIS-WATER-FILTER_W0QQitemZ150095063486QQihZ005QQcategoryZ20684QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Vinager is not a good thing to use to lower PH. Just get regular PH Down at your local hydro store. Its really inexpensive.

The 650 PPM in your tap water reflects all the disolved solids in the water. It could be anything ... calcium, iron, copper, arsnenic ... The RO unit is a must for really great hydro plants.

Thanks for the info, This thing is nickle and dimeing me to death I can get 5 gallons of distilled water at a store for a couple a bucks, that might be a better solution for now, I'll just take a couple of 5 gallon buckets to the store and fill em up every 2 weeks, I'm waiting for my submersible pump and ph balancer to come from e-bay, then I'll get going, I really have no place to put an RO unit of this size anyway.

of course it's bunk. global warming exists (although man has not a bit of effect on it one way or the other), but look at who benefits from the global warming hysteria - leftist politicians and the NGOs they fund. Al Gore makes a ton of money and gets an Oscar even as he travels around in his private jets and Hummer caravans. the left always craves more power and more money. Always follow the money!

WARNING! science content follows:

global warming (and cooling) is a natural cyclical phenomenon. anyone remember the 70's when these same loons were bemoaning "global cooling and the next ice age". every year there is a volcanic eruption somewhere on Earth that puts more pollutants in the atmosphere than has ever been produced by mankind; ever, as in since the dawn of time.

besides, no one ever talks about the benefits of global warming - more farmland, less extreme winters, lower energy costs, enjoying laughing at the Chicken Littles (one of my favorites), etc.

just ignore the "sky is falling" morons and enjoy life.

With tap water you should leave it open for 24 hours, then cover it for another 48 before using it. The 24 hour thing gets rid of the chlorine, and for some reason plants just love 3 day old water. Also this helps get the water to room temp'. Do you use ph up and ph down?

med, i've had a plant vegging in this method for 3 nearly 4 weeks. It's really badly put together and I haven't changed the water once. I haven't got a truncheon yet either.

I think the trick is to give it just plain water now and again as the plant may not use up all the nutrients from the last feed and the concentration goes up in the water.

I grow by instinct. Apart from the ph of course.

Yeah, I guess my instinct is off. I didn't have any trouble withn the soil as it was much more tolerant, but one little fopaw with the water and the plants immeadiately show it. I'm waiting for my grow ingredients to show up, (E-bay) Then I'll get serious. The water here is atrocious, so I'll just get some from the store and start over. I've already wasted 1/2 of my Jock horrer seeds, but I've got a shitload of White widow hybrid seeds, (White widow and an unknown stranger, more likely Bastard seeds) and they were doing the best before I fucked them over. So I'll start over probably next week. Back in the day, I grew 12 Ft. tall plants in my little green house with cow shit and water, kick ass weed too.

Exactly med', I'd love nothing more than to take my little hobby where it belongs. Getting a pound per plant every 6 months would do me just fine. Unfortunately, i live in England, and in a city.
