Haven't popped the beans yet, but am setting up for a new grow. Putting 5 seeds of my cross and 5 auto freebies I received from Attitude and Nirvana about 5 years ago.

This line-up is:
5x Merlin's Beard
3x Jock Horror AF (Nirvana)
1x Kush AF (Attitude freebie)
1x Diesel AF (Attitude freebie)

These girls (once popped) are going straight into 3 gal grow bags in FF:OF and will be under a Phlizon 3000w CREE COB (true -> 600w) for the duration. Potentially I may force male traits in one or more of the autos to save for later, but we'll see about that when the time comes.

Nutes are Fox Farms trio and lots of Kelp, I pH to about 6.2.

I will put pics up once they are past the seedling stage, as we all know what seedlings look like.

Join the conversation if you like, and keep it civil please.

Good luck, how do you force male traits?
I make Colloidal Silver with some .99 silver wire and a little battery circuit I cobbled together. When you spray the plants with them daily it inhibits Ethylene (a hormone) inside the cells. Ethylene is what tells the plant to make female parts instead of male parts. The resulting male flowers still contain the Female DNA. This ensures all the offspring are female as well (2 female parents) which is nice for determining whether or not you passed on the traits you wanted.

Good information can be found at RQS:

Seeds are going in soil as we speak.

Posts like this blow my mind! I have so much to learn. Thanks for posting all the details, too. Is it necessary to make your own colloidal silver or are the store versions not suitable?

The store versions usually work, they just can be expensive for what is basically 99.99% water. I think the suggested strength is anything over 50ppm, I make mine to around 200ppm. Main thing is to continue spraying even after the pollen sacks start to form or they may stop and not produce pollen.

Little update today, and a few pics.

Lost most of the sprouts while away for an extended weekend, had to replant replacements.

I decided to cut back to nine plants instead of ten, so as to have a 3x3 setup under my light. I also turned off the "more light" setting on my light, which has allowed me to keep temps much, MUCH lower, and also get the lighr about twice as close to the canopy. This has improved growth as well, which you also can see.

New grow is as follows:

1 x DJ Shorts' Blueberry 3 weeks old, looks good.
1 x Merlin's Beard (my cross)
7 x "J" (my older fem cross, not yet stabilized)

As far as growth, most of these sprouts just popped soil 3 days ago, but the DJS BB and my MB popped soil 3 weeks ago. I have to say, the difference in the growth of the two, having popped at the same time, has been staggering.

First, the Blueberry:

Second, Merlin's Beard:

The comparison shot (Left: MB; Right: BB):

The branching and huge fat leaves on the MB are impressing me fast, as is the amazing speed of growth, again it popped soil 3 weeks ago, same as the BB. I have been stunned so far. Newest set is 9-fingered leaves (7 on the BB rn).

I have hit the two 'older' girls with one dose of nutes, and 2 plain, un-ph'd tap water waterings, as well as watered the sprouts with a very (very) light does of Grow Big.

That's all for now, see you soon. Yall be safe out there.

Just a quick pic for today, things are going well. Girls have been trained, lights are being switched tonight, one of them got a bit of nute burn but I have corrected the issue and she's recovered nicely. Also, I have topped each node on all my mains about 3 days ago.20200913_011806.jpg
