Redesigning C.O.B. Light

So I've got 16 COBs in a 10 ft x 10 ft room. Canopy is roughly 7 x 7. What I've got running is 2 rails of 4 trusty dusty clu048 1818 in mixed spec of 3000k and 4000k running off the bad bitch hlg 320c 1400a. 4 on a rail, 2 rails, 4 ft each. Cobs spaced evenly apart about 10 in. on center. Then I have a ridiculous 8 of the clu048 1212 in mixed spec of 2700k and 3000k running off the hlg 320 c 1050a. That's on it's own 4ft rail, all 8 of them. So u can imagine they're rather close. Was advised when I built the light initially it was probably too much down the middle. And that spreading them put more or in a different manner would probably be beneficial. Still, I built it to go in a specific area. Now I'm in a different house, it's not having the same result. So I'm looking to redesign my entire layout to better fit the room. As mentioned I have a 10x10 room, shooting for a 7x7 canopy, with a total of 16 cobs, 8 1818's, 8 1212's and would like advice on a layout. I've never gotten par readings from these cobs, but if anyone out theres running the citizens and has any input on layout, I'm all ears

So I just doodled this up. I dont have the cad software to do it on my laptop. So old fashioned ruler and stencils. It may either be way over kill or not enough, maybe some astute minds wouldn't mind chiming in. Obviously the doodle is what I want the room to have as i dont have 23 cobs in there right now. I'll need to get some more parts if this drawing ends up being what I fab up.

640(ish) watts draw from those two drivers, is going to come in around 15w per square foot of a 7x7 canopy.
That's about half, of the general recommend wattage per square foot, even with those type of COB.... For flowering purposes.

Smaller canopy, or add more driver power.

I dont know where only 640 watts comes in. I have 5 hlg 320's on the diagram. 3 for the 1818's and 2 for the 1212's. So 1600w total, over 49 sq ft = 32.65w per sq ft.

But I have 3 drivers in the room currently, 2) HLG 320C-1400A's and 1) HLG 320C-1050a so if I decide to upgrade this room, I'd need 3 of the HLG 320C-1750A's, and 1 more of the HLG 320C-1050A's. For a total of 5 drivers, 23 cobs. Over a 7x7 canopy.

Here's the room as of now for those interested. Its 960w at the wall. 27 plants, scrog'n out. Just went into flower so we still got stretch and growth to get em in that damn net. Might've made it a tad high. When harvest comes, I'll be investing all profits back into the room to get to the layout pictured above. But in the meantime I will be disassembling the 8 cob rail (middle) into (2) four cob rails (better light spread). I have another 4 cob rail of the clu048 1818 mixed spec 3000k and 2700k in my veg room that im waiting on a replacement for a returned driver that took a shit. When that gets here, I'll be throwing that in my flower room. So for now, I'll be adding 4 more cobs, 320w, as well as spreading 8 cobs out more efficiently. I think doing this will help with higher yields, as the 8 cob light just isnt befitting this new room. Killed it in my 3x5 tho. Merely 8-10 more weeks to go.

Realized I fucked my math up so here's the fix..whoops :eyesmoke::eyesmoke::eyesmoke::eyesmoke::eyesmoke::eyesmoke::eyesmoke::eyesmoke: and the 14" is from edge of hole to edge of hole. Its 15.5 if going center to center.
I smoke too much before I post apparently cuz my math is so jacked up. 17" center to center, 14" edge to edge, I fabbed up the rails from some stainless steel I repurposed. Will post pics when the driver arrives and I have cobs on. But turned out pretty well. Should arrive within a week n half. After the first addition, room will have 1280 watts at the wall. 26 watts/sq ft over canopy. A little low still but it's what I can do for now till crop.

Hey guys, I need a controller for all 5 hlg 320.drivers, the c02 system, and the red, uv cobs I'm adding. I want a streamline system to control all aspects in 1 instead of individual plug timers for each circuit, anyone know of a good.product to buy or where I should start looking if I go arduino?

Looks good, how do you like the Iceled heatsinks? What are you using to power them with? I got two coming in am looking forward to trying these over the passive ones I currently have.

I love em. I have 4 of the passive pin heatsinks that I wasnt too happy with the heat dissipation, but with the ICEled's I'm very happy with the dissipation and with minimal power usage. I've got 8 of them hooked up to a laptop power supply I had laying around, it puts out 12v @ 2.6 amps max. And the rest just off of some 12v 1amp power supplies for cameras I ordered from Amazon.

In all of her beautiful glory, rooms killing it this round. Finally got everything in tune. Just need to add a few more bars and get my par up a tad higher.
