Samsung H series strips, Arrow seems to be blowing them out! what a deal!

Building and using these lights reckon you guys are the ones to ask these questions

How would you compare HPS to LED watt for watt, would you say 3 watts HPS = 1 watt LED ? or a bit lessIMG_20201229_201728_3.jpg
How much would you say 480 watts of LED should yield

Reason why am asking my grow area is 8 x 5 with 40 plants was running 2 x 600 HPS an never felt have reached optimum yield

Changed to LED for this grow, nothing special generic Chinese brand 4 x 120 watt panels they stated 2 panels would cover a 5 x 5 area for flowering as a fold open unit. to get a more even par I took them apart an extended them with a couple of pieces of alloy angle.
Totally impressed so far plants are more flexible leaves a nicer green and having real problems this grow getting stretch as i burnt the roots when transplanting which caused them to stunt. It seems the LED is keeping them tight as well with the lights 3 foot of the canopy for 5 weeks there still showing little signs of stretch and its the last week of the flower stretch phase.
Did the same a few grows ago (didn't learn did I) what I found was they shot up later in flower but that was under HPS am wondering will these do the same under LED can only wait c on that result.

480 watts of good led will replace a 1k hps. 600watts of led will beat it in almost all catagorys.

1w of good led + well spread out light (kudos to you for getting them spread out) + perfect environment (+81F for high intensity/30w per foot) = 2w of hps SE or maybe 1.5w of cmh.

It looks like youre a bit light on wattage. You could probably lower your lights a bit more. Plants stretch less under leds generally.
That space would flower well with 2 x 1000 hps or 8x 120w qb-clones with modern white diodes.

Hi 2 x 600 hps in that area was too much would not change back for sure even though these have got stunted there looking dam good, a lot better than HPS better leaf condition and healthy plant alround.
Personally 12 watts per plant I think will be sufficient Maybe 15 watts max. My journal grow will show what 12 watts will do anyway

How do you rate plasma lights? been getting twitches in the groin after seeing Sun on demand theres is 1100 watts way to powerful unless u got high ceilings but saw some 200 watt units on Alibaba

In case anyone doesn’t have, put any Samsung linear in here and you have all the info you need for power/coverage/cost
This calc will also help with the older model diodes to get the best efficiency possible. Im getting around 200lm/w with older influx L04's.

never heard of plasma lighting. i dont trust it till i see some real world tests with meters.

what current are u running them at to get that efficiency? I was gonna do like 500-650ma. thought that got them around 170 lm/w but maybe I plugged data in wrong. what color temp? I have a bunch of both 3500 + 5000k

They make em for the actual diodes.. here’s LM301B-Cree70-80-90. Wavelengths on the data sheets

According to this calculator even if you ran this at minimum current .138A @ 25C you will still only get 193 lm/w, which is at only 535 lm. You would need to run 5 of these to match the lumens of one modern strip.

Even at their low price these are not viable compared to say a Bridelux EB gen2 or 3. Their is a reason these are so cheap.

Anyone know why delta drivers were pulled from arrow? Been watching for few weeks but they haven’t made any available again.
