i like the idea of it, it realy would create alot of jobs they would need a good amount of people to keep the crop alive and happy plus all the security jobs it would create. But on a side note i wonder how they would deal with pest control and if they would cure there weed right and long enough. if this does get approved it will be a step toword leagaliztion in other states cause you know they would be paying taxes and thats what "The Man" realy wants his share of the cut, also all them big op's better put out some good semi cheap bubble hash damn it that be the only thing id realy look foward to.

How about HR 875? Fully funded by major fortune 500 companies... I wonder why? Would you also support this? this will directly affect(right one?) any agri business. including govmt regulated marijuana grows. WILL put small buisness' out of commision. Makes you wonder why these issues show up hand in hand. things happen like this all the time, I planted 200 ash trees in a local subdivision and had union officials "trying" to penalize me for not paying union wages. why would I do that when I did it myself? I am not union. shot that down. Next I had the state department down my throat for not innoculating against the emerald ash bore. hmm how do they know i didnt, when I had a private company do this already? Goes to show you, the big wigs trying to take cheap shots at the little man. Come to find out, a company about ten times the size of mine, is the one who notified each department about this. I under-bid him by 3%, unknowingly. name of the game i guess.

I agree with this post wholeheartedly.

And my question for 420God is this: WHY CAN'T WE KEEP MARIJUANA MOM AND POP? Problem is, folks like you cannot figure out that even though wal mart is cheap, it is actually BAD for America. I know plenty of small growers that can keep the supply up and running, and with high quality.

If we allow Marijuana Walmarts, those corporations will start to lower the pay for trimmers and basically anyone that is not a corporate white collar worker. The problem with corporations is that they are made to FEED their investors, and that is priority number 1. Once they get into that game of constantly improving their stock price, that will eventually mean that they lower wages for the people that are experts and have years of growing experience. They will overpay themselves, and overestimate the worth of white collar sales people, and underpay everyone else that CARES ABOUT GROWING.

420God, I am surprised that you even smoke marijuana...... you seem to have a hard time thinking outside the little corporate box you live in. How do you smoke marijuana in the first place?

Would 10 big business' make up for 100 smaller, when the 100 smaller business' rely on a couple 100 people to get their product? When undoubtedly the 10 larger business will not have to rely on that many people, because of the "size of the scale" they are working with? would this create as much tax money, as say the smaller business that have to tax it a couple of times before its in the hands of patients. Either way, I really dont think it would + or - tax money in the area. so would it create more jobs in the long run? I am asking you all. government regulated pot? Mandatory pesticides and fungicides in our smoke, Go fuck yourself. Homegrown or the highway. "fully, thank you jan"

Unemployment would not go up, but the amount of good paying growing jobs would go down. There would some new jobs OVER THE TABLE, but they would pay less, and people will get taxed from that. My prediction is that people getting paid 15-20 dollars an hour to trim would now be at minimum wage and working mandated 40 hour weeks. We might have more people trimming, but they would collectively earn LESS.

Honestly, I don't even think that 420God grows or smokes. He is too involved with the Walmarts to think for himself. And if he does grow, he must be too stupid to realize that Pot Corporations will HURT him in the long run. He can either fight now, or be out of a good career later.

I grow for myself as many others here do so I'm not that concerned who grows in the end. I see no reason for drug dealers to collect easy rent. The only argument is that small business will lose to big business, it will, that's reality. Trying to pass time and think you're doing good by arguing on forum gets you no where.

We all need to continue to grow our own. If they make it ilegal to grow our own it's back to the old days of the black market undrground. Nothing will change. Big business will ruin your income if any. However as seen in the restaurant industry there is a movement from farm to table products. Big business of food packaging is on a down turn. It will probably be the same. Sell your product at the local farmers market. Designer quality products that the small time grower produces just like a fine wine will always be popular. What product will be better? BIG BOX OR the local farmer? In closing the local farmer will compete with the BIG BOX.......So the question is HOW DO WE VOTE ARE WE FOR OR AGAINST THE VOTE TO LEGALIZE POT??????? I don't know which way to go..... Any clue??

throwing personal assults doesnt do shit for the topic. Ive done it, not anymore. I really hope no one thinks that there would be people trimming commercial pot. Take that position out of the picture completely. you better believe they are going to throw the buds on and electic trimmer and beat the shit out of them, as they roll down the conveyor grate. Say good bye to those precious trichs. I know not there are plenty of electric trimmers in use, but I will never use one. EVER. Commercial pot= no people hand trimming.

I can agree that it is bull shit. But what do you get when you pay 200 an oz? Some of the crappiest beasties around.(all beasters are junk) so with corpo's running the show, we'd all be doomed with the streets running rampant of bruised up, quick dried, no cured, nutrient ladden buds that make the throat burn and buds even worse. Its unfortunate but you have to pay for quality, if you dont grow your own........:leaf:

That is not how capitalism and competition work..... The better grower will retain most of the business.... plain and simple....

It's going great in my house. I don't buy ANYTHING from Walmart. Why? Because if we all stopped buying from Walmart, there wouldn't be Walmart. There would be thousands of jobs lost, temporarily of course, until small business owners started building again, and people were willing to spend a few extra cents for better items or the same items with better service. Like I said. It's up to us, if you still shop at Walmart, but you hate them, you're a hypocrate and who cares. I personally hate them and don't shop there. I also don't buy Starbucks, or games from GameStop (who owns litterally 80% of the nations video game market) I shop at ACE Hardware, not Home Depot and Lowes. I find deals by individuals, often I'll even trade. Nothing wrong with the barter system. Get out, talk to people.

bed, bath, and beyond is also a big chain... you could get that stuff at a locally owned store for about the same price, not some place with name brand mark-ups.
