Are you saying that a cubic centimeter of aluminum at a temperature of 100 degrees will cool slower than a cubic centimeter of iron at 100 degrees? Given the two metals are the same temperature at the start, with the same volumes, which will cool to room temperature faster if placed in the room which is 70 degrees? Are you saying the iron will reach 70 degrees first?
Well, since the example I elaborated did not include either iron or aluminum, I was saying nothing of the sort. Water and tungsten were the substances, and they provided a dramatic example of a heat capacity ratio that is the reverse (and then some) of the weight/density trend.
Why the focus on iron and aluminum? cn

Are you a politician in training? Why can't you directly answer the question? Which will cool faster, the 1cc of aluminum or 1cc of iron?

Wow, a quiz show. We demand an answer.

Woops times up, why not lay down the pettycoat and just tell us?

Because, if you had paid attention, you'll see that i did answer the question using even better examples.
I did the numbers on Fe and Al, but have no interest in rewarding your obviously poor attitude.

Oh dude. Me in a petticoat?? The horror. cn

Sorry, not you. The game show host should announce the answer when the time is up, not demand an answer from the contestant.

That's what I meant. And most guys don't wear the pettycoat, they fondle it.

So, that's why I said, put it down, not take it off. :)

there is a bacterium that excretes a chemical which causes water to freeze at higher temps, and one that does the opposite.

one would have to sterilize and purify the water by distillation,, and keep it sealed to actually run any meaningful tests on water's freezing point, and even then it would be purely academic, due to the bacteria colonizing your water and the chemixcals they excrete precipitating into your samples or ice cube trays.

so the answer is Jesus did it.

in the 80's strawberry growers hired Genentec to create a new bacterium that would prevent frost from damaging strawberry crops. when it got loose then Genentec became the company that broke the sky.
