GreenB: no this grow is amazingly different from the first soil grow. i did not expect this much more growth. i know it would be a bit quicker but this!, they are turning in to monsters. i think i am going to have to flick them to flowering over the next week or so.

Hothousemary: now the plant has gone through puberty it has decided it like to shave and be smooth (kinky lil mutant). lol
i have had a few P.M's about the freddy thread all good and a few people have rep+ me for it, i think RIU was waiting for a bit of comic relief.
Coming soon...

copycats!

But kudos! Very funny!

Holy smoke, they are gonna be monsters! Flower them now mate, keep them manageable as possible. I cant get over them - soooo bushy. It IS hard work though - right? You are doing a sterling job sir. Have you come by any stats on Yields compared to soil grows?

Group is looking great... Those have taken off! U may want to keep a stick my the door, that one looks like a bitter! :)

we need the e' here!... The yellow i see on a couple of the leaf's may be related to p-k for sure... What are the npk's of the nutes and are the ppm's and ph's being checked??? Db.~tlb! :)

DJ: i know the difference in size compared to the first grow is amazing, i am thinking of giving them till next weekend, i really want some cuttings off these and then flick them to flower, i want a female clone, Yes it's a lot more work and checking. soil is easier by far. i have only looked in to yeilds a bit but as i can tell 30% more yield than soil, but most growers say you get a better smoke from soil,
thank you

B.: thanks, i have a baseball bat at the grow room door just in case.
the yellow on the leaves is from the heat/air flow problem i had this i think i have sorted now as the new growth is looking health, due to heat and poor air exchange the plant transpires more thus dring on the margins of the leaves causing curling and that yellow rusting on the leaf between the vein's,

You know what i may as well

here'san update:

today i changed the res

9 litre per bucket

36 litres with 160mil of grow nute

ph 5.7

EC 125ms

so the plants have shown no ill effect from the res change,

i have put the third envirolite back on after changing my outlet

temp 78.

res temp 72.

Pics
fight my way in "get down , stay , siiiiiittt , T**T"

the baseball bat does help. lol

this is a pic of the damage that B. was on about

few pics of the group

couple of node pics

here are a few pics with something to judge size

one i did not do was hight they are 30-34cms

ok i am not training the plants this time but i am trying some new things

the two plants in hempy are the experiment's

one i have topped in the normal way but a bit lower down. pic

the other i am trying FIM pic

but one of the hydro has topped it self (so strange)pic

so there you go. thanks for the continued support.

it's a bit stretchy but doing fine

here'sa pic from yesterday

and a few from today

so as you can see it's doing very well.

as for the self topper
i am hoping that it is a genetic trait of this plant if i keep a cutting from it i wonder how it will grow. but we shall see.

Hey kulan those hydros are AWESOME man. See those chunky stems and luscious leaves - mmmm!!! Really can't believe the speed at which those babes are taking over your space (hopefully not your life LOL). That damage looks just like my sun/wind damage, annoying but nothing to worry about for sure. They look so healthy. Damn I'm going to enjoy watching this one take off :blsmoke: Best of luck and keep up that splendid work my man!!!

thanx Greenb, i would have taken a big chunk out of my life if i still had the other 5 soil plants, as it is i need about an hour a day with them, and about 2 hours on a res change day. but i like to just sit in there with a spliff and just chill out i call it my happy room.

LOL - happy room, I like that :) An hour a day isn't too bad. I must spend near enough that with mine by the time I move them around, check them for caterpillars, feed or water them if I must and generally hoke and poke round them until I'm satisfied. Then I spend the next six hours worrying about what they're going to be like tomorrow LOL.

I spend at least an hour a day with my plants. But I just stare at them with my 8x scope most of the time. I have one PPP with about 5% amber trichomes, but there are still a bunch of clear ones, so she has a way to go.

I just wish I had more problem solving to do. I have pretty much everything under control. I only check ph levels when I mix new batches of nutes. DWC is just too damn easy.

DWC is more work than soil, but thinking about it, i think Flood and Drain would be easiest to run.

i check my Ph once a day with having no EC pen(i borrow one now and again) i am using the ph rule to judge ppm and calulate the time to change the res.

the damage i know it's to do with the temps and air exchange, this i have now sorted out, and a little burn from putting too much nute in a couple of weeks ago.

i have found that with this being my second grow i am more relaxed than with the first. if this was the first i would be like "AAAAAAAAAAHHhhhhhh my plants got rust and it's curling and i think it's going to die. sob cry blub."

but i am clam and every thing is going well.

Hi M8, you've been busy, its all looking good. Guess im a bit slow with the "this hydro topped itself," jokes. If she turns out to be female you should call her marilyn. Thanks for the comparison numbers, i think ill keep it like i am for now. Until I get sick of buying the mud!

in hydro you might not need soil but you use a lot more nutes. the hydro topped it's self. one of my plants in hydro has split in to two top kolas i have not done anything with it it's just happened.

i will update tomorrow with pics.

i checked my EC today and it was 120ms so i am upping it to 140ms.
i have upped the EC to 142ms in each pot the ph has dropped to 5.3 i am going to leave it as it will correct it's self in the next 4 hours and be at about 5.5 .
they are drinking about 1 litre a day now and i am starting to think i should flick them to flowering as they are getting too big. i think one of the hempy could be male it is showing a pre flower but i will give it a day or so to see ( i will take a pic of it tomorrow and post it). that's it really

thanks all have a good evening/night

Its awesome, 2 for 1 sale!! Nearly all the clones I keep and put to flower are self topped. I cant say its genetic because some of them are single stems but were all from the same mom.

Id flower straight away to avoid any bending, cutting. Its a nightmare running out of space. Its so much easier if theres a bit of room to play with. I dont think it'll affect your end yield.

Tell us its not true, - freddy:cry:

They are looking awesome man, I would say flower soon also(when the topped plants new stems have atleast 5 nodes), they will get alot bigger, you should know haha. I am almost positive that hydro is going to be my next experiment.

Good luck with the ladies.
