second grow first time hydro dwc

i don't think after this i will grow in soil again i need high yield as i smoke a lot.

i have the stuff ready to flick over to flowering. i am thinking mid week for the change over.

AND yes sadly Freddy passed away.

ok i checked the ph and EC

the ph was 5.8-5.9 the EC was 1.12ms-1.20ms

added nute up to 1.42ms Ph 5.4-5.5 the ph rises over time normally anyway.

so i came to check the Ph tonight. it had dropped down badly Ph was 4.7-4.9

Ph'ed up to 5.5-5.6 the problem being i don't know how long they were like this

i know that the Ph was at 5.4-5.5 at about 4am this morning but i did not check again till about 10pm when i found they had dropped.

Could this had done any damage?

Temps good 76-78
res Temp 70-72
RH 70%

1 litre-1.5 litres of water drank by each plant in 36 hours

i am thinking of flicking them to flowering in the morning, i was thinking that at 8am GMT i will turn the lights off and start 12/12.
my only hesitation is that i topped the tallest plant today and i am sure i have read that you should let a plant recover before going in to flowering.

What do you lot think?

MINI UPDATE

ok so i flicked them to flowering on the 11th and i am running the lights at night. it's cheaper to run at night and easier to cool.

11th 08 2008

light change now i have 2 x 125w 2700k (red) envirolite 1 x 125w 6400k (blue) envirolite and a 150w hps

EC in each pot after water top up and adding grow nute was 140-142ms

Ph'ed to 5.6-5.7

there are pic but little has changed.


12th 08 2008

so today i killed a plant. there is less and less room to move the plants around so one of the hempys got cut up.
i did not like to do it but this grow is about the DWC not the hempys or soil. i will be getting rid of the other hempy. URBAN MIST DO YOU WANT IT.(i will try and catch you in the morning to see if you do. if not P.M me or Post here. p.s if anyone you know wants it. it will cost them.) one way or another the plant is going.




3 of the 4 pots have a Ph of 5.8-5.9 (left these) but the biggest plant the one i topped 3 days ago had a Ph of 6.9 as i did not have a EC pen handy i took a guess, added 15 mil grow nute and ph went to 6.0 added ph down Ph 5.8.

temp room light on 78 off 66, res temp light on 68-70 off ? (forgot to check it when lights came on.)

humidity below canopy 60-70% above 45-50%

so not much difference really bar the missing plant.

took the kids out for a walk in the country to day, so when i got back i was knackered and fell asleep before my lights came on, i woke up about 1am GMT and half asleep checked the Ph, temp and humidity. but i did not take note of them so i know i did not add Ph up or down, i am happy becouse if there was a problem i know i would have done something.

today i desided to fit another light to my room, but first the numbers

room temp with new light above canopy 80 below 76

res temp 70

humidity above canopy 50% below 65%

back left plant:

topped up res 2 litres water

EC 1.07ms added grow nute EC 1.50ms

Ph of 6.6 added Ph down Ph now 5.8

back right plant:

topped up res 1.8 litres water

EC 1.11ms add grow nute EC 1.52ms

Ph of 6.2 added PH down Ph now 5.8

front left plant:

topped up res 2.0 litres water

EC 1.05 added grow nute EC 1.51ms

Ph of 6.3 added PH down Ph now 5.8

front right plant: this plant is a good 15% bigger than the rest.

topped up res 2.4 litres water

EC 1.20ms add grow nute EC 1.55ms

Ph of 6.1 added PH down Ph now 5.8

yea salvia is a weird lil trip. They actually outlawed in fla!

i can see why they would make it illegal , It's INSANE. that trippy high is by far the most intense thing i have experienced, it almost takes on a physical form like being pushed with a rod of insanity. i can see why the people of old thought that it gave them a divine incite in to life or were travailing to the higher plains to meet the god/gods. ok back off for a few more.

i might update later if i don't get lost in my jungle looking for my spirit guide (bet it ends up being the mouse i stud on when i first entered the jungle Just my luck).

So i did a 40 litre batch

Added

Ionic bloom 4mil per litre (160mil)

Advance nutes Carbo load 1mil per litre (40mil)

EC 1.64ms (820ppm)

Ph 5.6

Just checked the pots i have given them numbers today as i have changed the plants round. There are two that are 5-10cm bigger than the other two as my room slopes i have move the two biggest to the front.

Temps remain the same.

Humidity below canopy 70% and 55% above.

one main change to the room i added another outlet fan, the reason i fitted this is for the next grow when i will hopefully running a 600w hps cool tube and carbon filter i will need the two fans.

also i have put my large Air cooling fan in there but have not turned on the humidifier and i am not using it to cool, just as a fan + ionizer. the fan i had in was not strong enough to move the plants at all.

some good news today i have had the plants out i have 2 females 100% 1 female 75% and the other has no signs.
