Seed or clone. Preferences?

Hi I am just intrested in people's preference to use seed or clone.
I have done both in the past and for me clones tick all the boxes except sometimes having to wait for availability but what's your preference any why?

Depends on what I'm going for, currently i'm going for seeds but if i just want a more plug and play scenario clones are my go to

I find Seeds are more work

-Sexing
-Taking cuttings before flower to preserve the genetics
-unknown's such as expected yield's, potency, strain / plant specific optimum feeding schedules ect

with all that being said it can be very rewarding selecting out unique new mother plants and experimenting with cross breeding that you can't really get with clones

Plants grown from seed are stronger than clones. Also simple because you don't have to deal with rooting, the entire plants life cycle unfolds before you which is exciting as well.

Clones have a memory from the host seed grower. For example: if a seed is raised from start to veg in 24 hr light, when purchased it has a blank slate and is yours for the taking. Now, if the host grower has them on 18/6 from time A to time B, when purchased it will have that stored 18/6 in its coding. So if you were to keep it on 18/6 but change the hours, your lady is going to start showing signs of going to sleep at the original host time. So its always good to be mindful of the clones exact history from seed to clone purchase or if it is on a 24 hour cycle or something diff.

I personally prefer getting a quality cutting from a strong mother plant as I have been burnt with seeds a few times even when I brought from sensi seeds in the past. But I do agree growing from seed is great just never seems to be what it says on the label....for me anyway. Thanks people nice to get others views.

is there really a big enough risk that would go along with changing the light schedule to pay close attention to something like that?

I prefer clones as the grow time gets cut down by a large amount and you know exactly what genetic traits you will have in each and every clone you have. I also like to use my clones for fem seed breeding as the seeds tend to be very close to the female clone you made them from. To make new strains then of course I would start from seed to select the correct mother and father.

this "memory" only keeps up for a couple days.
