Well guys here it is. My first grow ever and my first seedling ever just poped out of the soil few hrs ago i think.

Only two came out of soil out of 8 plants. Turned the lights on now and grow starts....The seed is still on the tail and the seeds bout to flex up.
Lights on will be good right? 20/4 cycle?

Just a few question. Now that i ahve one seedlings sprouted i turned the lights on to 20/4 cycle for the first few days and gonna go to 18/6 afterwards.

My question is will my other plants that didnt come out of the soil be ok with the lights on?

also i noticed the dirt drying ALOT quicker with the lights on. I can only check on them every 12 hr or so since or my job. If i water them before i go to work will it be moist enough for 12hrs?
Im usig a very small pot about half gallon pots maybe smaller so the water drys fast.
Now that the sprouts are out, im planning to water the plants only when the top layer of dirt kinda drys out.

Will i be ok now? So excited to start a first grow. Currently have 8 cfls on but have 4 more ready soon. Mixture of 3:1 correct color temp. So 6500k six of them and two 2700k will be adding 3 more 6500k and 1 more 2700k when others sprout.

Look at my grow space and please tell me what i need to look for and what i should do with the plant in the space. LST?

Also should i turn the fan and outake fan on yet? Or wait a bit?
My temp is at 80 with lights on 75f with lights off. 80% humid =0

Thanks any advice would be appriciated.

Your seedlings will be fine, I leave my lights on 24/0 as soon as I plant in soil. It keeps them warm and helps the small plant know which direction is up. The rest should sprout in the next 24 hours.

Only water when your pots feel "light as a feather" when you pick them up. Some soil retains alot of moisture, so when the top layer dries out it doesn't always mean it's time to water.

Thanks man.! Very excited on my first grow. Hopfully i dont need to buy ounces no more to smoke. $400 every two weeks to much for me. Planning on veging it for 14 days or 5~7 nodes and ill start to flowering to find females.Than if less than 3 females ill probably put the females into veg again until i can take clones and take clones and max out with 8 flowering plants. Hopfully i can end up with 8 oz(28grams dry each plant) at least that would last me a good 3 months while i make some more.. =) .Dreams and goals are always good to have i guess. LOL Hope goals are accomplished.
Strains are NL and Mazar x Afgan.

I know exactly how you feel lol. Good strains, I suggest vegging until they are at least 1ft tall. It's always good to have a goal too. 1oz per plant is a pretty fair estimate for a first grow. Best of luck =)

EDIT: go ahead and turn on your fans, fresh air never hurts. And Only water once per day at the most.

I have some more questions. ALL seeds are sprouted and the 20/4 cycles started.
Im not sure if i am ovewatering or underwatering my plants but one of the seedling seems to fall over.. Is my CFLs too far from the seedlings? Or are they too close? Am i watering to much? Ill try to take some pics soon.

I heard i can put the CFLS around 1~2 inches away from the plant. I keep them at about 3~4 inches away right now. Should i move them closer?

Thanks

I just noticed its the plants that near the 2700k bulb that the soil is drying real fast. I stick my finger in the pot and it seemed all dried out again. So i gave it a little bit more water. Other pots seems to still be slight moist.
Is it because my pots only like less than half gallon pot making the water dry so fast? Or is it the fox farm soil?

Here are some pics. Seedling 6 is the one that seems to fall over. I am thinking im underwatering or letting the soil dry to much?

Thanks sorry for crappy pics. Ill be getting my camera next week from my house.

BTW how does the moisturem eter work? Do you need to have it inside the pot for long time for the measurement to read? OR can you put the meter in and out of different pots and find the measurement fast? I have 8 pots i need to know when to pot so wanted to know if its efficient.

Thanks!

Hi guys/gals. My babys are 1 week old from germination and day 4~5 from sprouting.
Just wanted to know if they look healthy and how slow/fast the growth is. Strains are NL and MazarXAfgan.
Some leaves are curling but not really bad. Am i overwatering or underwatering? I water once or twice a day but i water very little. Maybe 12oz water for 8 plants per 12hrs or so when the top 1 inch of soil seems fluffy or dry.

I have them under 12 CFLS all 6500k. Some seem to get more light and some seem to strectch towards the light. I change the pot location everyday. Also bury the stems and straighten out the plants as well with the soil. Seems to be working ok.

Now i have few questions.

I just got foxfarm big bloom and grow big and mixed 1/4 strength of each to a gallon of water and plan to water them every other day within a day or two..
Are my plants too young to be nuted?

Also my plants are now 4~5 days since sprouted from soil. How fast or slow or my growth?
My temps seem to hit 90+f these days and 75f during lights off. Humids at around 50~60%. Are these condition hurting my plants alot?

Also i plan on flowering them very quick and had some questions.
How tall should they be min. before going into 12/12. I am expecting at least 1oz per plant DRY. I am thinking to flower them within 2 weeks? When they turn 6~8 inches or so.

I have 8 plants that are unfeminized. So what can i do EARLY to know sex and put them back in veg stage? I am working with only 1 room/lighting setup. I want to cut down on the amounts of mothers and maybe grow the 100% females and do clones or whatever. But i want to do this ASAP. What are my options?

Again thanks you so much for all the help and knowledge. hope this experience turns out great!

Thanks guys. I think im gonna try the 1/4 strength nutes today on my seedlings. Will post more pics of the growth later. Seems like everyday the plants are looking mature now!! So excited.

Any inputs on if i can keep my flower till harvest in this pots? They are 6" wide pots. I plan to flower them at around 7~9 inches and goal to get at least an OZ per plant.

THANKS!
