With increased demand, comes increased supply. With this new influx, comes less competent day care workers. Also, since demand is so high, more child predators will come to the "rescue." Those child victims will become future aid recipients rather than participating in the work force as "productive members of society."

A child's parents are most qualified to care for their children. Making sure those who want aid have children developing properly towards productivity would be better use of our time. But we don't do that.

All we care about is outside forces and not the problem itself. We don't give a fuck about our children like when our nation first formed. We just ship them off to school and let government make sure they're good. We lost our parenting.

If you think I'm wrong, look at Japan. It has negative population growth. Despite still its advances, if it doesn't solve its population problem, its population wiil be less than it was when Commodore Perry first step foot on their islands.

Anyone that has become so complacent as to believe that taking money away from one part of society to give to another will teach self reliance and responsibility does not understand they are just another part of the problem.

There are millions of people who have received food stamps or other assisatance that have gone on to lead very productive lives - myself included, I got food stamps for a period of time after college.

What I wonder is why you expect government to "teach" anything at all, espeically self reliance to individuals but there you have it. You want government to "teach" us stuff and if they don't, government is a part of your imagined problem.

What is it with you guys and your disgust of anyone who may be in trouble?

lol the older mans out here the real hustlers get younger mans on welfare for a percent of it and say there living with them get them cars and with the extra money they get putthem on hard then the rest of the welly pays insurance for da cars then they are set that how i started out now i got wheels and i off welfare it's fuked thinkin bout it now but they helped me out hard unfortunitly i couldnt put up wit dis guys shit even tho he was really helping me and fucked him up smashed his window on his car good times tho imagine a 40 year old and 16 year old causing shit all day everyday ran a chop shop i didnt have my licence hed give me his s2000 to drive around good times

What has to be taught, is self reliance and kindness. It does not matter who teaches it. Finger pointing matters who is to blame.
When I see that self reliance and kindness are no longer being valued, taught or displayed by the Left....well, it's sold out, hasn't it?

The movement I was a part of, is gone. Too kind, too trusting, we were, back then. Blind to the ways of power and co-opted messaging.

If the government cannot afford to hire a street cleaner, but can afford to pay someone nothing because that street cleaning job doesn't exist, why not just not pay that money as benefits and isntead pay it as a salary for the job as a street cleaner?

I never understand when governments say they cannot afford to pay for X job yet then give money away in the form of benefits.

What has a child done? They're innocent. But when they become adults and aren't innocent, was up to us. It has then become the opportunity forgone. You can either make sure our nation's children become useful or treat them like shit.

That's you problem canndo, you didn't understand what I meant because you automatically thought of government as being the teacher.

Hence, "self reliance" something government is incapable of teaching and you must be proof of that!

I didn't "automaticaly" think of government as a teacher, in fact I never think of government as teaching anything at all. It seems you do. You want government to instruct the poor.
