Simple Questions About Beliefs - 02

OK, first off, much of this post is plagiarized from PadawanBater and is about developing suggested rules.

I know, but I gotta do it.

We've had too many threads already that just turn into garbage because everyone is free to post whatever they want.

So I'm going to ask everyone who decides to post in this thread to PLEASE HELP DEVELOP THE RULES AND THEN RESPECT THEM.

2. Please keep in mind the rules of the thread with each post you make

3. In order to make your words understandable to others, please keep your posts limited to one double spaced paragraph, and try to communicate clearly and simply using as few words as possible (imagine you are explaining your opinion to a child)

4. Every thread can be unique, and it shows US ALL we all have the power to direct our realities through writing, and gives us a goal to work towards.

5. Please use your 24 hour editing ability to make your point civilly rather than spewing with spittle a closed-ear, one-way incessant stream of non-understandable spiteful diatribe gibberish.

Alright, so basically this is what I was thinking...

Someone poses a question they have about a belief.

And since Belief has no right or wrong

It just is

beyond the boundary of Knowledge.

I have a million of them myself, stuff that just never made any sense to me in my own mind, stuff I've always been looking for an answer for.

The main thing is I'd like to keep on topic and not move to another point before the question has been answered to the asker's satisfaction,

Some define insanity as repeatedly doing the same thing for the same reason expecting different results.

That's what we want to avoid!

Thanks guys, lets keep this civil and prove that believers and non believers can actually accomplish something other than a 100 page bitch/argue fest!

I have difficulty understand things when the text and hate become too dense.

This thread is about developing a publicly structured thread style that allows people to communicate effectively that cannot do so in the 4-word story thread.

what is your agenda other than to make rules and defend 'beliefs'? This is an open forum where people can express themselves. If it gets out of hand, that's what the mods are for.

Pose a question they have about a belief. And since, according to you, belief has no right or wrong, then what? Say, 'huh, golly, oh, that's nice. gee whiz.' If it's beyond the boundary of knowledge why talk about it? Many of us are more interested in what we can know, not what we can believe.

Not hatin here, just sayin.

Oh, and I just noticed your poll question. Christians who believe in evolution end up in the same place the ones who don't do. Dirt nap.

but we all like pi and we feel we should be able to indulge wherever we wish. pi is universal. pi is the glue that holds the universe of riu together. pi is good, pi is god. if there is no pi in heaven, i don't wanna go.

I loved the movie pi.

The poll didn't have enough responses, so "I like pie." was my answer. It wasn't supposed to derail the thread.

and yet it did. see, all our actions may have unexpected consequences. not that derailing the thread might not have been a good thing. rules are, after all, meant to be tested at the very least.

some believe a good way to determine a real breaking point is to break it.

some believe it is humanly impossible to follow all the rules.

some believe we can all participate in making our own rules.

Unfortunately Hippie you are addressing a group of people who choose to disobey rules and break laws everyday. Smoking and Growing are against the law where the person accused can face time in jail. Here you just expect them to follow you rules without any reprecusions. Good luck Buddy!!

I chose "allowed through the pearly gates because they are considered Theistic Evolutionists" . I am not a christian nor anyother religous believer. But I would like to think that if by chance there is a supreme being out there that can know all and see all that he or she or it would see me for the good person I am and not judge me on weather or not I followed the life style of a sheep. If this supreme being knows all they also know that im the type of person who helps old ladies and pulls over to help broke down motorists. I would like to think I wont be damned to hell for eternity but if I am who cares because all my friends will be there and the party will continue for eternity!!! WHAT WHAT!!!

My answer would be 'A thought or a series of thoughts, that's thought over and over.' - Which is basically the same as Abraham says, from Abraham-Hicks.

Sorry. The Jesus says if you don't believe in him and the infinite child molestor you get to spend an eternity in the fiery pits.

It's one of the staples of cult indoctrination. Separate the initiate from their previous life, and convince them that their current life is not worth living without the cult.

The second is fasting. Protein deprivation makes the individual more susceptible to suggestion.

The third is litany. Repetition of a theme, especially to someone in the suggestible state hastens the process of indoctrination.

The combination of these three things makes for very effective brainwashing techniques. Reinforcement with drugs or other rewards can be used to strengthen the hold on the victim.

I just wanted to understand your belief as my belief varied:

I believed what was being said is that any man who can find no wrong with the deeds of man is already righteous and sees only righteousness in man, and there is nothing he could teach them, A Righteous Person;

I wanted to share my belief with you as well on the verse,
