Spider Farmer led grow light--less watts, more light

Currently i am using a d.i.y. led made from Samsung strips that uses 800 watts to perform like a 1000 watts DE hps. I am on the verge of pulling the trigger on an SF 4000. If understand correct it uses 450 watts to perform like a 1000 watts DE hps. That is almost halve the power my d.i.y. ledlight uses. Can you elaborate some more on the less watts, more light story?

Got a.pic of your diy? How many diodes total is your light? I can't imagine this sf4000 producing better results than a diy Sammy strip.light with double the watts. Unless you plan on running 2x in the same spot as your 800w strip light

So, can any of you help me figure out a good budget equivalent or better DIY strip for two 4' strips in the 100w range. Starting to feel like this thread is unfriendly. Not a noob. Just never built lights. And my harvest could be a little better with some side lighting and additional red. Thanks to anyone who has the inclination to help. Peace.

Spider Farmer use Samsung LM301B diodes with IR design. New SMD tech, the led is 3xbrighter than other leds, also the lifespan is longer.
SF 4000 can replace a 1000W HPS/HID/MH when consumes 450w.

So an SF 4000 performs like my brand new d.i.y. led for almost halve the power? That sounds too good to be true! But, if that is the case i most certainly will buy an SF 4000 asap.
