Yes ... It's scummy to steal from other people though. Million/billion dollar companies? Diff story. Wal-Mart is where I get my thieving on too.
stores ad-on to their markup to cover the lost costs of shoplifters. i worked at macy's unloading trucks back in the day and read the whole report. it's a lot of money and a big problem but the stores are definitely covering their costs by charging more for everything.

Well then maybe they could hire better employees to look out for shoplifters better.. It's just TOO easy to steal from Wal-Mart. or maybe they could fix their haywire alarms so that they don't go off every other time someone walks out the door for no apparent reason. . Distracting the workers who could be catching the real shoplifters. Walmart hires the dumbest of people.

No but sports authority throws out brand new sneakers that the don't sell then they mark them with spray paint. In high school we got like 300 of them and raided the neighborhood.
Next day there was even some people rocking new sneaks

Yeah, that's the shitty part of stealing from companies. But, I'm only one person. I might steal $1,000 worth of shit a year at the most. That puny amount is not going to make a difference in prices.
