Oh hey there!
This is my first ever grow journal, and as such was hoping to get some advice along the way!
Grow History:
I grew a single plant inside a stealth computer case a couple years ago, with decent success using LST/SCROG, which was kind of funny in such a small space. That seed came from some trees I picked up in Jamaica, so no idea what strain, but it was definitely Sativa and was a really easy grow. Ended up getting 8g dry after about 90 days from seed (~60f), which for a standard computer case (about 15" of space inside total height) was pretty fkn good I'd say. Medium was straight up soil/compost, no nutrients, just kept it watered under 3x 60W CFLs. I'll try to find some pictures but not sure if I kept them or not, so will report back.
Anyway, this time around I'm using seeds (once again) from trees I picked up 3 years ago (so no idea of strain or type). They've been sitting in a sealed container in a drawer, so no idea how they'll do, or if they'll even work. I just purchased some Heavyweight Fruit Punch seeds from Herbies, so if these seeds aren't good then I'll start over when the FP seeds arrive.
I built a cabinet which will hopefully become a perpetual grow once I iron out the kinks and get some experience. It's 99.9% light-proof! I tested the carbon filter/fan (low speed) by lighting 3 incense sticks inside cabinet and leaving doors closed/sealed for 30 mins - couldn't smell a thing. The cabinet is also next to a dehumidifier (in my laundry room/basement) which is always on, so the sound of the filter/fan is easily covered up, and the cabinet looks like a regular ol' storage cabinet.
Decided to go with the following setup:
Cabinet: 63"h x 18"d x 36"w steel w/ locking doors
Lights: 2x 300W Mars Hydro LED
Filter: 4" Ventech 190CFM fan w/ filter combo
Method: 38L Reservoir DWC Bubbler
Plants: 2x random seeds (will use best 2 of 14)
Nutrients: Optimum Hydroponix Grow A ( 5-0-2 ) & Flower B ( 1-4-8 )

^^ i realize that's a fk ton of money to spend, and i easily could have saved over 50% of the costs if I had all the tools prior, and didn't care so much about it being perfectly sealed/stealth. I mostly winged it.
Random Seed Progress...
Germination:
Sep 16th - 14 seeds in a glass of water - 6 Germinated within 24hrs. (about 3-5mm tap roots)
Sep 18th - put germinated seeds into nute-soaked rockwool cubes
Sep 23rd - still no seedlings, but can see them about to pop. hope they aren't duds!
I'll upload some better pictures soonishly!
