TGA By Others

I'm germinating the remains of these mostly TGA beans circa 2014/2015. Probably way too many seeds. The others are The True OG feminized from Elemental Wellness in San Jose, CA. They were $195 for six seeds. Ouch. Remedy is a clone-only 15% CBD strain from Dark Heart Nursery, which I crossed with a Dr Who male. I've grown out 8 females of that one. Ranging from no-buzz CBD plants, and all the way to one plant that a female friend of one of my guy's in the hood thought was marijuana laced with drugs...two times, months apart. We live in a drug zone in Richmond CA. It's called the Iron Triangle/North Richmond. One other clone descendent was a Girl Scout Cookies Thin Mints clone from Dark Heart Nursery, crossed with a TGA male (Jesus OG x Dr Who). The only other non-TGA strain is an IBL of Chemdawg IV grown by a seed supplier in Kauai, HI. I have not grown indoors except to start outdoor plants since 2015/2016 Winter. I took apart my small grow room to sheer-wall a basement...for eight months straight. I'm going to get a 630 watt Ceramic halide later, but I'll start under a 250 watt, then a 400 watt, and I also have a 1,000 watt in HPS. I'm going to build a new room in the deeper part of my basement, made for horse-and-buggy parking in 1913.

I haven't been on the site much for a few years. I didn't realize that he had passed. I'm glad I always made a load of seed crosses with his strains even more now. I'm just coincidentally sprouting a bunch of his seeds from 2014/2015.

Poor Subcool had some very hard times.

i was going to say are those kalisnapple as ive grown that out to, buds were size of a small rugby ball, no trimming needed, 6 x 14" plants yielded 10oz dry/cured bud, never did same on second run though.

Haven't done a Chernobyl this big in a while. I'll try to keep updated with it. These pics are from different dates and are a bit older. I just hate how the branches always fall all over the place. I cant find cages big enough. I don't like using nets or putting framing around the plants because I like to be able to move them around. Especially for cleaning which you can see was badly needed at the time by the looks of the floor. I also have 2 flower rooms where one is used for early flower and shorter plants, the other for taller plants. For now I put bamboo branches around the plant and place the thicker type picture wire where needed. I thought about drilling holes in the bamboo steaks and putting the picture wire thru and around to make my own custom cage and perhaps help everything stay in place better.

I also finally got my Sweet Tea sprouted. Would imagine I should have it harvested by 4/20. I may have mentioned before but for those that don't know, Sub started a Sweet Tea thread. https://rollitup.org/t/sweat-tea-california-ice-tea.992236/#post-15535442 There are hardly any posts there. I would recommend all fans to check it out. Sub tells a great back story about the strain. I had a crazy coincidence myself when I ordered this strain. I didn't realize it had California Orange in it at the time which I remember smoking about 20 years ago.

Damn.... I’m literally holding back tears atm... a couple years ago a partnership going bad closed my grow down... I grew subs beans 99% of the time... i didn’t have the financial or mental capital to start over... I recently had someone contact me for advice on a grow and started tossing around the idea of getting something small for myself going again... I literally even basically quit smoking herb once I ran out because nothing was any good... dispensary buds are trash around me... but I came back and started looking around to see what subcool beans were good these days and I find out he’s gone... I can’t even describe it... feelin a little lost tbh...

I don’t even know where to order beans online anymore... I went to attitude and saw basically everything from subs library discontinued...

I hope everyone I’ve been in contact over the years on riu is doing well, hopefully this plague bullshit hasn’t touched you all as bad as some... happy holidays to you all... my xmas was shitty already but learning of subs passing really put a damper on what little good I was feeling about the possibility of getting something going again.... if anyone knows a place to source subs gear please post... id really like to get my hands on the void/purple Apollo if at all possible...a couple years out of the game may as well be a lifetime... happy holidays.... hopefully 21 brings some good to all of us...

Ole Badger...I can remember when he was jus doing work around the house for Sub n trimming n shit...just watched an episode the other day where he was teaching him how to pollinate...well...teaching him his way anyway the man prolly already knew...that's good to hear abt the strains I did not know this...I wasn't aware that sub knew he was going to pass to where he could line things like that out I thought it was a sudden thing...I basically leaned how to grow from the man...him n this site and mainly his subsection of the forum...his youtube channel not him personally I did not know him...I still watch old episodes for the nostalgia...it makes me feel at home when working in my indoor garden with ole sub in the background

You guy's were some of my favorites when i was on this site years ago. It's an incongruous group of six or seven strains. I need to top the bigger ones. I think the bigger ones came from a GSC Thin Mints clone and a Sour Diesel clone, seeded with a mixed male 1/3 Indo and 2/3 Sativa. I use a male with Durban Poison, The Third Dimension, Mendocino Purps, SFVOG, and ChemdawgIV on a lot of plants and clones. Many of the mother plants were from The Weed Nerd, and many males I've made seeds with were also TGA Genetics. Some of his descriptions would indicate more of a special plant than a giant producer. Weird traits and smells and terpenes. So, I liked that he described his plants so well and that he used growers all over to grow out his strains and test them on a wider scale.

I, too, took a very long hiatus and came back hoping to bask in Sub's coolness. Had a hard time finding his gear, so I started looking for him and that's when I read about all the shit he went through from 2017 forward. It really is heartbreaking. He was a light in the industry, it is hard to accept how much he suffered.

So those overstock seeds are the result of a keeper male from listed strain being crossed with whatever female the buyer chooses right? Is this more of a pheno hunt thing? I have a five plant limit per state law, planning on growing big plants in 7-10g smart pots under 1K HPS. No time or room for moms and clones. Would you say it is worth popping ten of these and growing out five females without playing any breeders games?

The stuff being sold under badgers name, not the overstock, the "Badgers Batch" is subs attempt to rebuild right? This would be the stuff that would've been branded under The Dank, not TGA. Why are there zero photos and descriptions? Any idea where I could find more info? Thanks in advance.

Happy to say I can legally grow now living in AZ. I got 4 Vortex going now along with 1 Querkle and 1 Solar WInds (norstar)
