Shit, this morning the stalk is turning purple. The roots on the plant hang down into the water in the res now. What could be happening? Is it too close to the light? Is it burning??
On SOME of my Cali.I.x.B.B. plants, and on The Lone Papaya, I have some stems that are purplish on top. I experienced the same thing with the first two phases of my grow, and they grew out of it. You're feeding them, they have light, they're growing, yes? As long as they're getting the micronutrients along with main NPK nutes, you should be alright. If you're really worried about it you might want to research deficiencies, because as far as I know that's what causes purple stalks.

Bang on advice....my reading tells me slight stress or possible nute deficiency....several in my grow, especially younger plants have done this, and time usually takes care of it....Just keep doing what you do so well....all the basics

It could be that I'm underfeeding them. I've been so scared about nute burn that I've been using only 1/8 strength. Maybe it's time to step it up. I took the books out from under them and put a fan on them. The top of the purple one is wilting a bit. I guess today I'll change the res & feed 'em a little bit more.

Yes, like Ohsogreen says... um, crap.. something about starting low and slow, feeding weakly weekly (but I think he generally grows in soil). Crap! I hate it when my memory gives me problems that I can't blame on being high.

ive ran dwc before littlebat. if there rooted which there look like they are. get the water to about an inch or 2 under the baskets. you have an air stone right? if its purpling. it'll be somthing stressing it. check your roots arent drying. get the water to the right level. room temps. anything not quite right will kick in the purple, if it doesnt have that as a trait. i dont the strain

My system is aeroponic and I have to keep the water at a certain level for the pump to run. I changed the res today and gave it 1 tsp of GroAqua. I've been using 1/8 tsp, the label says 1-2 tsp. So I went with the low end of that, and filled the res up with very cold water, and lo and behold the plant is coming right back to life. That must have been the issue, it just needed to be fed.

Here's my beautiful girl with her beautiful roots!! This is the one that was turning purple but is now better.

And no, that's not my Little Bat Cat in the pic -- he's like the double-wide version of that. :)

I'm gonna have some pix of the Cali.I. x B.B.'s & TLP (The Lone Papaya) soon, wrapped the pots in paper to avoid heat problems.

Hydro: My plants are kinky, what can I say? I'm thinking of buying them all little latex dresses.

Satman: package making its way toward you! Enjoy the CD! :blsmoke:

And now for today's questions:

I found a guy selling a mini Cool Cab (M. Cool Cab) for $250. Retails for $1500. He's local, as in, right in my neighborhood. I've been thinking a lot lately about getting another cab and using the (shitty) one I have as a clone/veg chamber. I hate the thought of having to start from seed every time and only being able to grow two plants. So here is my question: if I decided to use my current cab for clone/veg, could I just cut more holes in the res I already have, or would it be a better idea to buy another system? If so, can anyone recommend one?

The next question is this: the plants in the cab are growing like the weeds they are. (Incidentally, I would just like to say that I'm loving the Supernatural nutes!) I'm thinking that in another two to three weeks I can perhaps flower them. I'm trying to time this so that these show sex just slightly before the outdoor plants. That way, if they both turn out to be male, I can take clones from the outdoor ones as soon as *they* show sex and move them right into the cab. Can I plan on seeing the sex of my outdoor plants by the beginning of Sept? How long does it take from the time you switch the lighting to 12/12 to see gender? And do you switch to bloom nutes at the same time you switch the lighting?

Hopefully someone can answer all this...I'm looking for the cheapest and easiest way here.

damn question lady...lets see if I can cover all of em for you....first of all...but the second cab....lol...you should be seeing lots of signs of flowering by september. it can take a weeks or two to see gender after the switch....start nuting them for bloom as soon as you switch the lights....sounds like you have it under control girly...BTW...here are my connies from about ten minutes ago...dont mind the yellow...they need another round of nutes but I was in a hurry last time I had to water so they fell a watering behind...no biggie...they will get some nutes tonight or tomorrow morning...but look at all the branching...I cant wait to start rippin clones if they are girls....and if that is the case I think I may need some more seeds till I can get a male....hopefully I get one this round so I have more seeds here
