After reading this thread and using advanced for over five years I ended up giving H G a call they were very polite and are gonna send me a trial pack to try their product out so we will see how it develops.

I have decided to not use shooting powder or top booster this grow. Is there any other additives I can use in place of sp I am using bud xl. Everything is looking good. Just curious. I'm on day 33 of flower.
MadFarmer MOAB. Works well and doesn't raise ppm through the roof as much as shooting powder.

That being said, I've seen plants thrive under the H&G full line with an EC of 3.3 at the end of floweing. It is probably genetic related, as that strain seems to be extremely resilient and able to take a severe ppm beating with a big smile.

MOAB is extremely hot. Althoughn it doesn't raise PPM, be careful and only use it at half strength.

You mind me asking why?
I was going stop using it on dense flower strains, my last two grows netted 30% bud rot on my largest cola's, after the first "bout of rot" I increased the air movement in the tent added 2 more fans, my temps run 68 lights off, 79-80 lights on.
Both times it showed up 1-2 days after flush has started. The stuff works great on diesel strains!

What is your humidity?

You shouldn't be getting bud rot at that humidity range. Do you defoliate your plants at all of do you leave them with all the fan leaves?
I just remove lower growth. Maybe 2-3 fan leaves if they are shadowing a prime bud.
Lol, No room for leaves, these buds (cola's) must of weighed 3-4 lbs
About the size of my forearm when I cut them, the rot was smack in the middle of two of them
Below the rot 5" seemed moderately moist, at the rot, (about 3")was the same just moist,
But the top 5" was like a water balloon (no rot) but totally saturated.

But above

Just a suggestion but maybe defoliating will allow for better air circulation and may prevent the bud rot.

Hi all, i've done a whole lotta rosie, sorry reading and i got a few questions for ya, but first my setup.

Hydrogrow LED 189x pro (ouch), 3x3ft grow room, 2x 20ltr NFT, air stones in each tank coming on with water pumps. Orca on the walls, circulation fans and extraction.

H&G nutrients full range, getting Great White & possibly Halo & Rox. Mate has great results with Rox, altho you could probably crack a few heads with his buds they are so hard. lol Biggest and fattest i have ever seen, will get some pics in a couple a weeks for ya when he crops.

Over here in UK H&G website has an old nutrient schedule so i'm using the US site calculator.
I understand that it is for RO water and i am using tap water, no biggie just need to knock back the nutrients a bit.
Current crop is a bit of a dead loss to be honest, think the genetics are suspect they've had problems from the beginning, but currently have 10 Double Gum regular & 2 Super Pig Fems on the go, 2 wks old. No problem so far.

Questions
1. What do you use for seedlings and what strength, bit of a pain with H&G ?
2. What potential problems to look for with LED ?
3. Are Mollases worth adding during bloom ?
4. Should i just stick with H&G nothing else ?
5. Great White, do you add once or is it 3 times during Veg ?
6. Is it worth investing in a Charcoal filter. ? (RO is to wastefull.) Will it remove vital elements ?
7. Is a circulation pump worth it ?
8. When to remove fan leaves/useless branches and when not to ?
9. Ant good sites explaining SOG & SCROG in detail ?
10. Do i think too much ?

Oh and whats the best thing to say to H&G when trying to get freebees

Cheers Buds for all help and peace be with you
And sorry if my questions have been answered somewhere here, its been a long read :)

Thanks for the advise, but I, with the help of my hydro guy may have figured it out.
The only thing thats change was going from Coco to Hugo Blocks for the two grows. Oh, and now I have 4 fans in there.
But the Hugo's hold a lot of water, and for flush I never added any SM 90, tension reducer so that was probably the main culprit.
Here is a photo, the rot was on two colas on the far right, (one is barely visible) they were above the canopy and directly under the light.

Questions
1. What do you use for seedlings and what strength, bit of a pain with H&G ? Use 10-20% strength
2. What potential problems to look for with LED ? I don't know anything about LEDs
3. Are Mollases worth adding during bloom ? Not when running hydro, IMO
4. Should i just stick with H&G nothing else ? That's what I would recommend if you can afford it, it gives me great results.
5. Great White, do you add once or is it 3 times during Veg ? I use Orca, from the same company, and I use it every week because it helps prevent any slime and/or algae from growing and causing damage.
6. Is it worth investing in a Charcoal filter. ? (RO is to wastefull.) Will it remove vital elements ? I use R/O water
7. Is a circulation pump worth it ? Yes, better circulation equals better dispersement of nutrients therefore better feeding of plants
8. When to remove fan leaves/useless branches and when not to ? I start trimming, fan leaves only, around Week 3 of Flower. You only really need to prune for air circulation and light penetration, anything beyond that is unnecessary.
9. Ant good sites explaining SOG & SCROG in detail ? You are on a great site with lots of info. Search around and you will find some great info on both SOG and SCrOG.
10. Do i think too much ? Yes!

Dude I see the culprit right there, in the lower left corner. :oGet that thing out of your tent!!! I don't let my dog anywhere my tent and she knows when she is too close.

This is just my opinion,
Shooting powder works great if you want more weight on your bud. The 30% increase is possible, but (I) end up with mostly foxtails on my buds, and the new growth seems to continue for about 9-10 days, this new growth is seen by some dispensaries as being "Hermied", making it a little harder me to recoup my expenses, those that know, know it's not a problem, it's just not as pretty as it could be.
Other then that the stuff works great.

I got foxtails on my Blue Dream grown in an undercurrent DWC system with CO2 but not in an other tent that is just hand watered coco with no CO2. I was trying to figure out why I got the foxtails since I basically used the same nutes for each grow, the only difference being the base nutes. I used Cocos for the coco and Aqua Flakes for the undercurrent DWC. I am not 100% convinced that Top Shooter (liquid Shooting Powder) is to blame.

Is anyone running sea green by primordial solutions? Stuff is about $60 for 500ml, 1 ml per galon. Stuff is full of life apparently and from what I've heard breaks the nutrients you feed into a smaller mesh size, in turn making nutrient uptake better and easier. Also makes your plants more accepting to higher ppm feedings.

Seems to work great, been using it for close to a year now
