I have a ph question. I am using H&G cocos A/B. After I add my nutes I get a huge drop in ph..like from 6 to under 4 some times. I use the ph up after the a/b and before the root excel and drip clean.
I test the reservoir not the medium, but I grabbed this cheap soil tester from home depo and it reads high on ph..over 7. My res is 5.5 when I feed. Plants don't look burnt. I am using B'Cuzz coco coir
What is everyone else doing about the ph drop? Do I need to worry about the soil meter?

those soil meters do not work well, using them just gives false info imo.

if your plants look fine and your starting the ph at 5.5 then i wouldnt worry about what the meter says, just dont let too many days go by in between waterings and the PH wont get off point to much.

Does HG even sell the Attac Force or House Clean in the US? Or the gel or the PH Stabilizers?..
i still cant tell if the drip clean does anything or not... i went without and was fine but im back on it now... idk.

and no, they dont sell attack force since 9-11 (they recommend "great white" in the US) and im not sure about the other products but i wonder the same thing.

What is your cleaning regiment? Just scrub the res's each change?

wtf does attack force have in it that they banned it after 9/11?

"they" say you can literally run without scrubbing your res or drippers once if you run the drip clean.. i know my buddies swear by it.. the guy at the hydro shops res looked squeeky clean and he was using it...

yea, i just scrub it every change with hot water, but i use h202 every other time i clean it just to make sure no pathogens are lurking.

i think the attac force has certain spores in it that for some reason cant pass threw customs, but thats just what ive been told... idk for sure.... maybe you can make a bomb with that shit?:o

i dont think the drip clean kills pathogens, so i would still scrub your tank once a week or two... it gets gross after a while even with drip clean.

So i feel stupid even asking but i have never used h202 or grown hydro.. is that the same as hydrozyme (or is it called hygrozmye?)?

Also, do you use it just to clean the res or do you mix it in conjunction with your other nuts and let it flow through the system?

dont feel stupid,
h2o2 is hydrogen peroxide ... not the same as hydrozym.

u use the h202 to kill bad pathogens... some people run it in their hydro system to keep away root rot and such... but it will also kill the good stuff like your beneficial bacterias, and many additives and nutes say not to combine them with h2o2... i would only use it 4 cleaning the rez and make sure to rinse it all out after.

Have not been on the board for a while. Thought I would post a few pics of my latest H&G grow. Starting with the Great White Shark.

I have a 55 gal res...not worried about temps now, but will be in the summer. I can't believe you would use 36 to 48 2l bottles a day...that is way too much work.
I use an r/o with a float valve. It takes abouut 24 hours to fill the res..so the idea of re-filling the tank with cool water doesn't seem practical..
Doesn't a chiller have a thermastat?

This pic is before I installed the float..now the blue hose goes in the side of the res.
Like Loudblunts, I also have the same filter.

Sorry to trouble you with this question, but if you wouldn't mind, would you post a couple of pics of your float valve setup? Trying to install one and don't wanna come home to a man-made lake in my garage.

Here are a couple of pics..the first is inside..second from the outside. The level is below the float right now.
I put a splitter in my line and a second res with another float for my veg room nutes. I have been running with floats in both res and they work great. I used the dripline valve to shut off the ro water to either of the res if I don't want to fill both.
I shut off the water to the res after I mix nutes and feed because I only use 1/2 of my large res per watering.. the small res I only fill once a week right now.
