time to harvest and trichomes

I have a small grow room with 6 budding plants but all at different stages. Anyways i have a northern lights at 50 days. hairs are about 75 percent brown and trichomes are just now starting to amber in a few spot so im going to pick this one then let the next one go a little bit longer to see what if any difference there is. To all you trichomes pros how long do you normally let them go after they start to amber ???? Also i did fertilize but not alot so i did flush yesterday. i quit fertilizing 2 weeks ago.. Does it matter if i pick when the soil is still very wet ? I just seem to rememeber back in the old days people saying you should let the soil dry out . not sure if thats true or not...sorry no pics just lookin for a few opinions ....Thanks peace

Dude:
FYI: Hairs, turning brown has nothing to do when a plant is done....

When your top cola hairs stop growing, and pointing to the lights...
Those hairs...
They will stop growing, and will all recede back into bud...
Then it will be time to check your Trichomes...
The harvest window opens when the hairs on top cola have receded...[and long week earlier have stopped growing]
At this time I have found it to be peak harvest for THC Max...
Some say flushing is a waste...
Good Luck on the wait....2-3 weeks if your plant still has new growing hairs on top...
