Tri-Meter is going nuts any suggestions?

ok guys so i have a nutradrip trimeter completely calibrated as soon as i took out the box and double checked a day later and its on point. here is my isssue when i put the ppm probe in my rez water it reads like 1000+ppm, but when i use my pen temp/tds meter it reads 80ppm.

Now here is the weird part when i take a cup of my rez water and put the probe in it reads 80 ppm???:wall:

I dont know what the issue is im using a aquamist system with an airstone. has anyone ever had this isssue??

I've heard that a air pump will through off the readings on those meters, somthing to do with adding electicity to the solution. i know my quantum ballasts fuck that thing up like crazy it would swing 4-500 ppm and 3-4 ph per minute

Like mrduke said about the ballast if you are using a digital ballast near it the frequencies disrupt the trimeter. I would take it back and exchange it for a new one and move it away from your ballast. If you don't have a digital ballast still take it back it should be under warranty if you've had it under a year

my ballast is not digital and its about 3ft away, when i took some of the solution in a cup (same distance from ballast it read correctly) i also turned off my pump and air pump to see if it would change it and it did not (scratching head)

just found out what the issue was, spoke to the company and there was something with my board (on certain models) where the magnetic drive pump messes with the readings . so they sending me a new board. PROBLEM SOLVED
