Thanks UB for all the great info. I have been reading RUI for a long time and feel you have guided me in the right direction. I don't think I have ever asked you a question, but Thanks for all the answers. MicJ

Hey UB. I heard somewhere that increased co2 in the last weeks of flower prolongs maturing time and reduces eye appeal/smell. I figure that maybe this is because usually people using co2 increase the temps. My last harvest was 85 degrees on the tops and the tops ended up being spindly and airy vs the lower temps in the middle turned out amazing. This grow is almost done and the tops look wonderful. I kept the temps no higher than 77. What is your thought?

Hey UB
i been reading, watching videos and stuff to educate myself more and more... It's a long ride but i'm loving it... I still haven't get to technical details with science but by observation since I do my own gardening at home besides the cannabis. I'm getting closer and closer to flowering (about ten days from today) and wanted just to check with you what other things I could take in consideration. I was able to take pictures Of my plants and created a thread about it.. this is my thread... https://www.rollitup.org/newbie-central/603718-6-weeks-zeed.html. I was just thinking of letting them grow after this super cropping aiming for maximum foliage and roots and so far I'm following the pointers of your thread. I'm thinking on continuining using the same fertilizer a 20-20-20 with micro nutrients water soluble formula anti clogging... And as the growth peaks up increase the dose.. I also have a 12-4-6 which I'm considering using after week 4th or 5th.. Or switch em up... Depending what the plant wants... I have try them on roses with excellent results.. But i dont know for cannabis... Anyways I'm wondering what else I can do to increase my first yield on those 3 plants. Thanks maN.
well I just found some good info in your plant moisture problems but still would like some pointers or suggestions on yielding

The only way to increase yield is to concentrate on foliage/root production and maintenance until harvest. If you are using a high quality water soluble plant food, the ratio is not that important if it's balanced, which a 20-20-20 or a 12-4-6 is. Where folks get into trouble is using cannabis specific foods that don't contain enough N which induce premature leaf drop.

I run a perpetual and my room is always 1200 ppms. I have never had any of these issues. But, I also follow another ub suggestion in that I drop night time temps to 69, day temps are 82-83

Easier not to push the quote on my phone.. thank you ub for your reply. As the last two posts have some of your techniques with night temps and types of plant food and what the real factors are with larger yields.. I followed what you said UB and with harvest being 9 days away and a 30 day veg the 4 plants lost a total of 22 leaves haha. I was surprised enough to count. They are green the whole way through and when I take pictures of the flowers they look like they're glowing. Seems like elf magic to me!

I do have another question about double harvesting. I would like to double harvest this time and was wondering how I would go about flushing then getting back to a nute schedule after top harvest. I know how you feel about flushing and last grow I didn't flush. I did notice that any concentrates I made crackled whether it was quick wash iso or regular iso extraction. I also noticed.. well others noticed that it could be a little harsh. I think this is because I use General Hydro lucas formula with a couple addatives. Lots of salts?

I would like to try it as someone I consider a mellow grower (non air cooler smaller mh light user through whole harvest in his bathroom with no experience training and clips off fan leaves when they turn any slight color *shiver*) and he said his second harvest was better than the first.. probably ripened right. He doesn't use a microscope.

I was just reading some articles on co2 levels and their effects with Ethylene production (ripening hormone). The studies were done on tobacco plants and on Sunflowers. They were in an environment where every detail stays the same. Each plant was in a glass case like on the old Disney movie Beauty and the Beast (the rose). All tests showed that as co2 increased the ethylene levels also increased exponentially. They did experiments fromregular co2 levels to waaay over what anyone would use in their garden. They also did more experiments with injecting ethylene in with co2 or without.. In every experiment co2 increased ethylene. The only "negative" thing they found was in super high co2 levels (as in enough to kill a human) the combo of co2 and Ethylene changed the shape of leaves slightly because the co2 aggitated the ethylene hormones.. which he tried to explain because co2 apparently affects the plant tissue ph as well as acid absorption and one other thing.. but what matters to us using co2 at "regular" elevated levels of co2.. IT INCREASES ripening hormones.

So UB you are right again!

I tried to add an attachment (not pic) of the pdf file I downloaded with all this info but don't know how. type in

"co2 and etheline production" on google. Yes, spell it just like that. Your top result will say scholarly articles. The second sub category under that will download the pdf file I found so anyone can see it. My great success has been thanks to past experiencd, UB's techniques and waaaay too much reading with the scholarly articles.

Can't have it both ways - deprive a plant of salts and expect it to retain its leaves.

I've been using the citrus from JR peters, and I have to say they are much much greener with this than the Flora Nova. They seem to grow some with every feeding really, thanks for finding and posting the nutrients, I definitely believe they are well worth it.

Yep, made for tropical plants, and, cannabis is a tropical plant. I like to think of cannabis as a flowering annual, cause, that's all it is. The 20-10-20 with the excellent micro profile is perfect with supplemental Ca found in your water source and/or dolomite. My well water is high as hell in Ca and Mg.

The funny thing is in tropical areas it's almost a perennial. I mean, how many other dioecious annuals are you familiar with? Are there any?

UB, hope all is well. I asked you earlier about the Maxibloom that i foolishly purchased before reading your threads and you mentioned adding some nitrogen. Well, while i was at my local hydro shop yesterday I came across a small bottle of the Foliage Pro (9-3-6) they had on the discount shelf for 5$ so i picked it up. I am curious if i could run this alongside the maxibloom (5-15-14) to get a boost of N that the maxibloom is lacking. The Foliage Pro recommends 1tsp/gal and the maxibloom is 1tsp/gal. Would it be ok to run both at full strength or would i be better off running them at halfstrength together.

thanks in advance

There isn't much of anything but sand in my well water. With a ppm meter it checks in the range of distilled water which is 0-25, and it usually checks at about 6-13 ppm mark. Not sure what minerals are in it, but it can't be many of anything.

Hey UB
I been wondering for a while... That pic of yours... If you remember... How big was the top cola?? How many grams you got out of it dry? Also, what strain, veg time?
