The biggest problem you should really have i would have thought is evenly distributing the uvb light onto the top of your plants whilst the hps in the way lol.
My solution to this thought was to have one tube either side of the hps reflected down at an angle covering half the grow area each![]()
No not upright you will have to hang them same as a hps their field of emmition is low you will just give the middle of your plants a tan lolyeah thats when two of them 5 footers would come in handy one on each side standing upright

Yeah i haven't used it myself yet so i cant say anything for sure,i am going to buy one and give it a go for my next grow though for sureok finally finished watching, after the scientific stuff it makes some sense. however that guy was so trashed by the end i'm suprised he managed to keep the info coming.
looks like it might be worth it to try UVB in conjuntion with CFLs or HPS... i dunno, worth a shot, i figure.
If you only have a very small space and 1 or 2 plants 2 foot will work just fine, for anyone using 1metre square area or more best to use two 5 footers either side for even distribution and even power to make a difference for sog or larger growsfound a 2-footer with 10% uvb at petco. says its wavelengh reaches 20" from the bulb and it is...............$42.00-$46.00 also comes in 18" bulb
