Hey guys. Im planning on taking my 1000 watt hps and putting it into a 4x4 grow hut. a 4x4x7 grow hut come out to be 112 sqft. I want to get a can fan carbon filter combo. Problem is 6" can fans exhaust 168 or 300 cfm. Is 168 cfm enough to cover the 1000watt light or should i just go with the 300cfm? Any help would be much obliged!

Thanks,

I personally would go with the 300 the carbon filter will reduce some efficacy of the fan though it may suck in the tent you could use a speed control to help adjust things in your favor I have found that when it comes to a/c and air it's better to go bigger than to small and have to buy something twice good luck

yup ditto what 916 said.

168 would probably work, but 300 would keep the air really circulating nicely. Also depends on ambient temp around you too, so that may or may not be an additional deciding factor.

Go big, you know you will regret it later if you dont. :) I use a 500cfm on my 1000w. tad much, but now it cools room, filters air, and cools both 1000w and 400w. I bet i could stuff another 1000w in the chain. When in doubt upsize. Best of luck to ya. BTW, speed controller can be hard on fan motors. Least thats what one fan manufacturer told me.
