Want to ban guns?

If you read my other post you'd see I already made mention of t being a different matter for hunters (even though I disagree with hunting for sport) and if you need to protect yourself from dangerous wild animals. I'm not that stupid or or blinkered. Even taking those and other factors into consideration my opinion still stands.

Really, step back and think about it. If you were not all so used to having your guns for so long already, and guns were suddenly available to civilians and this shit happened (it's bad enough that these massacres can be considered a regular occurrence) You'd all be up in arms saying Why The Fuck Are These Weapons In The Hands Of People? The same way you guys are now suggestin armed security guards in school and shit when in the same line of thinking (wanting your freedoms) in any other context you guys are complaining about the police state etc Yiu can't have it both ways. With unbridled freedom comes risk.
I am in security and in no way shape or form can we be considered part of a police state. My company operates seperate from police or military. We station armed guards at banks to protect people, it would be the same at schools. I have never once had someone come up to me accusing me of contributing to a police or military state. They thank me for keeping them safe, step back and look at that.

Im pro security guards from private companies. Not only are we allowed to operate away from police control, but it stimulates competition in the market and the business will continue growing.

Kuroi, the cycle of violence has been endless ever since the first man took rock, stick and sinew and made Sharp Stick 2.0 ... Your scenario of "what if guns suddenly appeared" runs counter to human nature. It's bred into us to want to have at least weapon parity with the tribe over the ridge. cn
is true... But why let it escalate? I think seeing the guns taken from cartels in Breaking the Taboo really brought it home for me, seeing how the complexity and potential for massive damage evolved over a short period of time, the weapons becoming more and more horrific. Like when it got to the point of A bombs being tested/used. Does it take a Hiroshima to make people realize 'hey, maybe no one should be allowed to have this sort of devastating power?' Like those calling for the abolition of all nuclear weapons or power were called crazy lobbyists, then Chernobyl. Does it take another one (Fukushima anyone?) to drive the point home?

Will it take another Columbine for people to get the point? Well I suppose since there have already been several, and people are expect anything other than for a call to tighten gun laws, then people are never ever going to get the point, Neer Neer :(

Put all the gun lovers on an island and wait for the to all shoot eachother. Self defense of course... Just an answer to the suggestion that gun haters should be deported to Britain.

The world is violent enough without it being a Battle Royale- with a weapon available for every hand. Things that wouldn't have otherwise happened had there not been such easy access. People will alway find what they want on the black market, but it'd be a damn sight harder if there were tighter restrictions..

are you saying that these 'gun rights' only seem to exist if you view the constitution as a living document?

problem, righties?
well obviously i see that the gun rights still exist because the constitution says americans have the right to bear arms..

and thats hasnt changed because there hasnt been a big event that has changed it...until possibly now.

Thankyou for doing your job and I am in no way criticising you or your line of work, the same way I disapprove of people here bashing the police force for doing their job.

I was simply highlighting that people want people like you around when their kids are in danger but in dozens of threads on this forum, have I seen people take an incident involving security measures as an opportunity to freak out about the Police State this, we want our freedom this and fuck the police that. I'm going to have to dig up quotes aren't I...

the way i see it. people should be allowed to bear arms. but only if they arent clinically diagnosed with a condition that may be bad such as depression. like i said, take a look at texas....all time low crime rate. only thing I seem to fear about that if people getting cocky cause they have a gun and start talking shit..

im guessing people that say fuck the police have had bad experiances with police or have seen cops acting very bad. Though, there are good and bad of all kinds. I saw some really fucked up video of police acting very very bad, and ofcourse after seeing it i was pisssssed at cops. My brother is a cop. But i hated cops for a while...but then i realized...there is good and bad firefighters, cops, teachers, strippers...u name it

There's another aspect to it all. It's NOT everyone by any means, but you speak to some guys and it's like taking away their gun means cutting off part of their penis or something. A gun doesn't make a man.. So many kids I went to school with ran off to join the military for the sole reason that they get to use a gun.. And they sorely regret it.

the right to bear arms was put in there to keep the brits away. since we now have a standing army, it's obsolete. unless you count the constitution as a living document, you don't really have the right to bear arms anymore.

Lot of money in security, especially if you work for a private company that contracts you out to people. Really cool job, I might do it later in life.

so much glorification of cigarette smoking, so many lives destroyed(a lot more innocent). why arent people calling for that ban? oh, its your right...

How about we deport all people talking about banning guns to England
How about we deport all people who want to deport people for talking to some country that does that - deports/exiles/jails citizens for talking.

As important as the Second Amendment is, it is still number 2.

Talk is good. If only we could ban closed minds.

That's another point... People want their children safe and people want the right to own a lethal weapon... Because its fun.

I'm an ex cigarette smoker and their plight is almost as selfish a those who want to keep their guns because it's their right and it's 'fun'

People ARE calling for that ban and it is in effect. No smoking in the workplace and soon public places. You are not allowed to smoke in rental properties either.

Im sorry k, but i am a very responsible adult and teach my family the importance of gun safety. Do not blast my right to speak and my right to bear arms cause you do not understand them

And why dont you quote me?

That's another point... People want their children safe and people want the right to own a lethal weapon... Because its fun.
