what is your honest gram per watt ? no bull shit . honest answers only.please.

I completely agree :) GPW is, at least for me, absolutely USELESS. It leaves out one of the most important factors: Time.
For my own record keeping I note my Grams Per Week! This combined with the wattage of the lighting used, is in my opinion much better.

Grams, wattage and weeks - useless if you only know two of them :)

I'm currently testing autos where my best yield so far is 80g after 10 weeks (from seed to harvest), with 200W home made LED.

As a new grower I use gpw as sorta a milestone in my learning. When I first started I was at .25 if that. I tweaked stuff then hit .4, then .5 now I just hit .7 on my harvest 2 weeks ago but until I repeat it I don't count it. I tell myself when I hit 1 gpw I can relax a little & just grow.

For me what matters more is the profit/cost ratio. How much does it cost you in dollars including your time in the room compared to the output. If your in you room for 40hrs a week to produce a couple oz it's not worth it.

This is just an example:
clone/cups 30 days
1-600 watt veg (30days) 600 watts power per hr x 18hr = 10,800 watts per day
2-1000 watt flower, 60 day harvest. (2160 watts power per hr x 12hr=25,920 watts
a/c-1,260 watts per hr x 10hr = 12,600 watts per day.
dehumid-6000 watts per day
10" fan-236 watss/hr x 12hr = 2,784 watts/day
6" fan-116 watts/hr x 24hr = 2,784 watts/day
nisc fans-200 watts per day
Total per day = 61,088 watts +/-

Electricity 120 days = $1,123.20 (example at my house)
Promix,nutes,misc. = $100
cost to grow a 4 month harvest not including start up cost & personal time is $1,223.20

Now you have a baseline for the 2 lights.

think of it as price per oz rather than gpw.

Let's say you produce 32oz (lb per light)
$1,223.20 (cost) / 32 oz = $38.22 per oz to make.

if you produce 2 lbs per light then it's $19.11 per oz to make.

Now I dont care what the price is in your region because what you pay for heat in Canadia some else pays for a/c in Arizona. It's all in the same ball park.

And if you produce 6 oz per then it's costing you $203.86 per oz to grow. still better than street prices i guess lol

My .02

After my first joke of a cfl setup, once i got a hid the conditions were still terrible, got a hermie nanna and it managed to seed some shit up somehow.

First (Cfl) I got hell... I would say a little over a half oz, so like maybe 18 grams or a little more? A shame since i had like 600 watts of cfl's, lmfao... .03 gpw
Second 1000 watt hid, w/ hermie, (light leak and extreme high temps)... Better but piss poor, about 5oz's... .14 gpw
Third I had to destroy...
Fourth I'm on now, no light leak, and better temps due to time of year, let ya know in april.

Hell i would be happy with .5 gpw, would still give me over a pound, damn that would be nice.

Still on bag seed, so now way to tell what a good condition yield would be.

I think I would shit my pants to actually see a 1:1 ... LOL, but only been at it for a little shy of a year, and had many bumps along the way. Live and learn.

Tired of loosing money by actually working for it lol. I'm sure one day i will profit. LMAO

2-3 $ a gram maybe if I stay at .61gpw. I broke it down to less, but then I thought about veg, air pumps etc which brought me up another $.

I use a 400w setup.

Coco
Canna coco nutes
6 weeks veg roughly.
8-9week flowering.
4 plants trained.

Strain dependant anything from around 0.8gpw-1.1gpw.

Last 3 harvests have been 439g, 427g and 374g.

427g grow is in my signature link.

refresh thread. still no led yields out there. I thought there would of been a few braggers . save the electricity . ok guys lot of fighting about gpw. I do understand we have to veg. I have more then 1 grow. one I use mh 5000 watts grow plants an inch to 3 a day lol until final height of 3 feet tall then into tomato cages that house. other is in stages so I use a small t5 220 watts total for 20 plants to veg height of 16 inches my sog. other house. I do 12 hours mh then it shuts off then the cfl kick on for 12 hours so its 24 hours of light different intensity . this grows them about an inch a day in veg . then sog them 2 feet tall veg . I like to experiment to find the best growing style possible to save the most electric. the 12/12 12 mh to 12 hours t5 is winning so far, saves a ton of electric and grows very fast and bushy plants no stretch strong roots,

Ok, 660 watts of LEDs over 4'x7', 24 2g. or 3g. bags vegged and tied down to a small 12" tall mess, perpetual grow (4 in every 2 weeks), averaging 1 to 1.25 ounces. I have now upgraded to 1330 watts and have started playing with DWC and flood and drain. First DWCs not to happy, warm roots. But still got 2 and a quarter ounces off one bucket.
You missed my LED grow.
