afhani! it's influence on the majority of strains annoys me to no end. i don't buy any of the "bag appeal"
propaganda used to sell them on people after superior strains that get you high were eradicated at the beck and call of corporate scum pushing addiction. i don't like that skunky funk. don't like the buds that are too dense to be able to be broken apart by one's fingers. not impressed with all of those resin glands either of all a strain does is make me stupid and tired. i'll take small fluffy pale green with golden orange hairs columbian gold with it's tin fuzzy resin glands and generic wheatgrass taste any day over what ever "no danks" you have any day.

the majority of strains that don't get you high bore me to flat out annoy me. even 75% sativa skunk #1 with it's 25% afghani annoys me for being stony even if it has some euphoria at least. not liking indicas at all.

If you ever smoked any "afghani" you would most likely change your mind.
Half of the stuff you list as strains you like include afghani.
Smoke a joint of Skunk #1 and you will come back praising it instead of hating on it.
Maybe I am in the minority but it doesnt "couchlock" me unless I over smoke. SKunk is a nice roaring balanced high, from my experiences. Being that I love skunk, I have had alot of experience with it.

Are you talking for growing or smoking?

Big Bud is horrible to smoke, but great to grow.

It might be easier to ask favorite strain to grow for personal stash.
my favorites
1. Sour D
2. Ghost OG
3. White Rhino

Hope that helps
Sidd
4. White Widow

I had a lot of issues with the pineapple chunk sativa phenos. Took over 13 weeks to flower and one pheno didnt exactly ripen or mature the right way. The indica phenos are another story, I personally only dislike the pure sativa phenos. Very finicky and picky. I will grow the chunk again but will kill off the sativa phenos. Unless someone wants them...

pineapple chunk was probably the worst most unstable genetics i ever had. all 10 were different phenonos, all were sativa dominant, all took over 13 weeks flower and half of them got budrot (i never ever had this problem in my growroom) when temps went below 17celsius. oh and lets not forget they were super sensitive to everything! i will never ever go near that again. however the finishing product after 14½ weeks was O.K. not more. 60days flowering my ass! i acctualy have not found 1 thred where that was correct.

Years ago, I actually tried growing pure Thai landrace I got from a friend.

Mistake.

Stretched like CRAZY, wispy buds (but AWESOME fruity smell), then after flowering for nearly three months, went hermie.

They probably would have been awesome plants to grow outdoors. . .in Thailand.
Indoors? Not so much.

Regular White Widow. Indoors I mean. Outdoors spectacular. Indoors wispy and stretchy even using 1000 watt HPS & MH from veg on. Had to top and then braid laid over to let others have canopy space. Could have been me, I suspect seed for sure. The weed was OK indoors but never again. Overrated.

Thing with sk#1 now is inconsistancy. So many sellers have their own pheno. But yer the best skunk#1 grown right can be clear, no couch. Like true uk cheese at week 8

strains not worth buying. All KC Brains unless your outdoors then 36-leda uno are average.
sure theirs many nirvana i could list to

just want to know what to avoid...
Well I call this the Mango Jinx. !st time I tried to grow it was about 6 years ago and I got clones from a friend of a friend. They took it from plants(s) that were in 3 weeks of flower. wasnt' told that till I came back to them and said it didnt root and it looks like you took them from a flowering plant because the preflowers were apparent. Didnt even bother with being patient after the reversion and they looked like azz anyway lol. Ditched them and went with some g-13 clones which turned out to bomb funny how things work out.
Then I obtained Papaya clones ( mango strain version from Nirvana seeds) earlier this year and they were plagued with powdery mildew, transpiration was occuring too fast, and they were leggy. Guess ill skip my third try is a charm rule. Prolly will never do a mango strain even if it is from seed lol.

My least favorite strain is Big Bang from GHS it's all fucking mutant, smell not promissing at all & the micro buds at 5 1/2 weeks had no raisin to be seen, I chop them all the bastard. Everything I tried from GHS in the last few years were at best mild deception. just thinking about 10 years ago these guy's were the best, now avoid them at all cost.

Great I have 5 pineapple chunks growing and issues I have is that I was experiencing early Nitrogen deficiency in first week of flower hopefully will correct in 3-5 days after I fertilized with all purpose NPK. Also experienced stretching that I couldnt control even with topping and fimming. Looks like I have the indica dominat type atm keeping fingers crossed.

i've got Mekong Haze going into flower in 2 weeks, i agree- stretch stretch stretch, i think i'll pick the shortest female to flower as i expect they get massive once 12/12 hits. its supposed to be a 100% sativa cambodian landrace, looks 100% sativa to me.

Man I hope mine smokes good once it is done. I do love its profile well in my grow very tight internodes and short and stout.
mine wouldn't get above 1 foot in a 2 gallon so i chopped her, she had issues since she started flower. not worth it, hardly any trichomes and hardly any smell, it did smell like strawberries though, which i liked. critical kush gets 2 thumbs down from me, and just about anything Barney's farm has tried to push as "cup winning" (pineapple chunk, Tangerine dream, Critical Kush)

As a rule of thumb, pure sativas typically triple in height after going to 12-12. Plan accordingly.

Also, watch out for hermies, particularly late in flowering.

In fairness, I wasn't nearly so experienced as a grower then as I am now, and I was working with a restrictive height ceiling.

I think I only had four feet total; take out height of the pot, plus deduct bulb height and necessary clearance, and I probably only had only three feet vertical space for a 12-14 week flowering period.

If I had to do it again today, I'd be much more aggressive with training, starting right from seedlings, and more tolerant of hermies. Going right to 12-12 from clones might be a good way to go, too.

I agree. I got a pack of their colored seeds and the germ rate was terrible. Between 3 different people including myself, I got one seed to survive, great white shark. Now, it did grow very nice, tight nodes, branches everywhere, smell was great, however the "white" wasn't happening. I made bubble hash from the trim and made enough hash for 2 bowls. My chiesel on the other hand( almost same amount of trim) made almost 4 grams of hash.

The high and smell is good, but I wanted award winning, not good. I will not be handing them anymore of my money again.
