Next generation of Solar is coming out in like 7 months. Now would be a bad time to buy. Apparently they are making good strides in technology.

lol so maybe $1200 considering you can pull 3-4 lbs every two months not much of an operation cost if you ask me

Would be great if that was the only cost and my time was free.
You can also hook it right up to the grid which is what most people do in the valley. No need to store any electricity. You just feed your excess back into the system and hen at night what ever you use is off set by whatever credit you gained during the day. The main problem with maintaining solar panel is having to clean them off of dust and dirt because if the photovoltaic cells are blocked then they won't be very efficient.

Ill tell you whats wrongf with solar.... You have to have a LOT of roof space facing south cuz thats where they put them and u need a good chunk of them especially for 1000s of watts of grow lights I looked into but i couldnt cuz i have a solar power water heater and those panels take up the space so be careful anyways fuck that guy go to solarcity.com they are THE BEST

hydro is pricey to start up and maintenance also i dont know how to effectively get descent water thats not too hard for hardwater formulas cuz my tap is 240-350 according to the city (glendale's water company)
I been trying to set up a hydro for almost a year now finally got most of the parts i just need media, tubing, and a gallon set of nutes for a 3x6 ebb n flow.(need sprayers and basket tops for a dwc i almost have the parts too assemble)... trying ff happy frog soil for autoflowers cuz i been using roots organics exclusiely n i figured id give it a shot. iff i dont like it ill just use my recycled roots
anyways theres aklot of time and thought in hydro unless u got all them fancy room controlors and meters i suppose
There was a tax credit a couple years ago that would have made the investment profitable over a 15 year period based on average use and a few other variables now that the credit has expired, it is a very tough margin to actually beat given the initial investment and the longevity of the equipment. Hopefully the new cells that KAL EL mentioned will be cheaper and more efficient.

My house is old as balls and not insulated very well so the AC ends up running all friggin day even tho i have a vented hood
im in veg tho, so once i go flower next week it will be off from 8-8 and that will help a lot, not to mention i dont have to run ac!!

not just to sell solar. do you really think i would do something like that. i just figured everyone on here could use it like i said i am small time so i dont use solar myself but i figured some of the bigger people could use it. i can get you free solar panels(for people with high bills) although i do not qualify myself due to low electricity bills. i just figured people on the forums could use them this is not my first time on rollitup.

i can get you free panels and maybe even batteries you just buy the energy at a much lower cost than the electric company.

regular home owners will not be able to afford the new technology rite away it will still be a year or 2 before they are at a practical cost for the home user. it would be a bad investment until the cost has gone down

i can get you free panels man price is not an issue when free you will buy the electricity at a reduced cost and we will maintain and repair them

i pay 40% more than for a home of similar size.
but i'm home most of the time and the a/c is always turned down to 76 or so.
i only use one 600 watt and a T5 for veg. I used to use a 250 watt MH for veg but the T5 does the job just fine for my needs. this lowered the bills a bit but not by much.
