well the other brand is bridgelux which is also a good brand imo plus i think fce has adjustable bars and more diodes overall.
dont get me wrong i dont have a horse in this race i dont even use mars. was just curious why you chose that over the other one.
Well now I'm not sure if I want the FC or the FCE, hahaha

haha welcome to hell! lol. its so hard to decide i know if you’ve decided on the fc just go with it don’t want to confuse you or anything, also a fellow grower mentioned opticled in another thread i started and their setups seem solid too, waay better than anything mars ever produced hahahah
though i never used them personally so cant say anything definitive they looks sexy af!

Well cancer & severe sciatica came knocking at the same time. So I didn't have time to wait anymore & so I just ordered the FC4800. Now I just need to figure out how to pick a strain for those 2 problems & get them in the soil. Guess I'll see you in the other sub-forums ;-) P.S. your avatar rocks... one of the best movies ever

definitely one of the best, agreed :D

sorry to hear about your predicament, wish you all the best man.

i think you’ll be very happy with the mars too. you can grow under most lights with ease and get good results.

I'm stuck in the past and still rocking a 600 watt HPS in my 4x4 flower tent. I use it with pride and have no intention of replacing it anytime soon. It gets the job done and does a good job doing it. I don't need to spend hundreds of dollars on an LED to replace it. I'm not in the race for the latest light. I'm growing cannabis and doing just fine with the equipment I'm using. A 600 watt HPS does a great job growing good yields of dense potent flowers. I don't give a damn what the haters have to say about it. If they want to replace my light with a comparable LED I'll give them my address and they can send me one.

Brother, if my tiny cabin could handle the heat I’d still be running a 600. That and the electric bill. In fact I’d be using the 400 to veg and throwing them under the 600 to flower. Absolutely nothing wrong with HID.

I know there's absolutely nothing wrong with using HID lights to grow cannabis. I was being proactive hoping to avoid the common "Hey dude, you need to go to LED. It will change your life dude. Stop living in the past, blah blah blah..." reply I've gotten so many times after mentioning I use an HID. :bigjoint:

If I was just starting out I’d buy a digital ballast kit. Upgrade the reflector to a sealed air cooled. 6” fan blowing through and go to town.

But my first actual tent was a 4’ Ohuhu for $72. Used it until last year. Gave it a professional grower who uses it still. Too many people spend way too much money when they just don’t have to.

That thing looks pretty dope. At $699 though, is it worth it compared to the Mars Hydro FC4800 which is $550? Aside from blackbird @600w VS fc4800 @480w....Like how much difference in production/hours of light lifetime can i expect out of the HLG product?
I dig your signature.

.

I've recently bought an HG Scorpion Diablo and I'm impressed with the growth I've had the past 5 weeks of flower.

HLG has some great customer support.

.
what size room/tent you growing in? How many plants? That does look like an impressive light but not cheap
