Who here does NOT FLUSH!

Mother's Finest told me it's better to flush because by getting N levels way down to zero the plant stops new growth and focuses on finishing existing flowers
this is spot on in my book.

flushing isnt the proper word for what is neccessary because it implies ridding the chemicals. the objective however is to stop new growth and allow the plant to finish up.

All i know is here in California, Try to DONATE some bud that has not been flushed and they will Decline to put your Bud on the shelves. I have seen it, they smell it and say WTF is with the chems
true that. any real dank club would send you back to europe with your unflushed shwag.

Flushing never made sense to me. If a plant packs it's weight in the last couple weeks, why starve it during that time? I guess the answer is that the plant will use what's in the leaves and what remains in the grow medium, but all the flushed plants I've seen with pathetic yellow leaves all over it look so sad.

I'm on my first totally organic grow and don't plan on flushing. I'll probably give it plain water for the last watering, but as far as pouring gallons of water through it, I have no intention.

People always say flushing removes the "fertilizer taste". What the hell does that mean? Back in the day I grew in Miracle Grow soil with Peters Bloom Booster and never flushed. My bud never tasted like fertilizer and tasted just as good as any chronic I'd ever gotten off the street. Burned well too. My last name isn't Cervantes or Rosenthal, but I think there's way too many myths and urban legends when it comes to growing dope.

Unless you're growing or buying all your own organic veggies then you're already consuming so many chemicals and pesticides when you eat food that the little bit you may or may not be smoking in your bud is of little significance IMO. For all you know someone at the factory was having a bad day and took a piss in your jar of spaghetti sauce.

Just my 2 cents.

Must say I totally agree on the old school strains blowing todays strains completely out of the water (so to speak) the breeders now breeding for taste and smell instead of actual high but to be fair it is the mistake of the consumers thinking that smell makes it better that caused this. The smell does not get you high :)
+1. I'd rather get blazed of turds than get a lesser buzz with something that is little more than bag appeal. At the end of the day it's about how stoned you get.

Not everyone wants to get stoned (some want to get high or somewhere between the 2)

Is it generally accepted that hydro should always be flushed? or only if its not organic?

That's what I meant. I've always called any effect from dope "stoned". My mind has always associated the term "get high" with shit like inhalants and hard drugs. I've just always said "get stoned" or "I'm stoned" instead of "high".

When someone says they "want to get stoned" you automatically know they mean marijuana. When they say "get high" they could mean wrapping their lips around a gasoline can or some shit. IOW, the term "get stoned" is less ambiguous than "get high".

Oh yeah, its not as if anyone ever talks about marijuana when they ask "Hey you wanna get high?" In fact unless you are a total drug dead beat loser the most likely thing for that to mean is marijuana. Its all over tvs and movies too.

But my point was that there is a difference. Some marijuana makes you stoned and sit there... well like a stone. Other marijuanas make you high which is basically the opposite of stoned? Although most people won't bother to mean the difference whenever they say it, most people use them to mean simply using marijuana (but like i said there is a difference between a stoned marijuana and high marijuana)

OMFG your bud must be total crackling shit that taste like nutes lolz!

/jk

I think flushing is only necessary when one screws up and/or uses nutes that are more on the chemical than organic side
nope smoth as silk no crackeling...

I've grown in soil/hydro and did the flush and no flush on plenty of crops. What i've noticed is if you grow it the right way there are only subtle differences. To the people who say there is a chemy taste or smell when you don't flush, the reason is because you didn't cure it properly. Even the differences between a hydro or soil grown product is subtle. The only difference i noticed in a hydro grown product instead of soil is the finish time and how faster they grow. The final product still taste the same and be just as potent. The key is the way you cure the final product, this is what makes the bud taste and burn properly.

After growing for a while and giving different products to my patients i've come to the conclusion that flushing doesn't really make a big difference. If you have a good strain that is grown properly, the key to getting a good final product is the cure. I do mine in mason jars for at least a month and when it is ready for consumption it taste awesome.

I'm not saying what is right or wrong if you flush or not, what i am saying is that you will not be able to tell the difference between a flushed product and non-flushed product if it is cured correctly. I've tried this with my patients and none of them could tell the difference sometimes they were even wrong. My suggestion to everyone is do what you feel is right for your grow, but don't take everyones word as science. People in this hobby think that there is only one right way of doing things and after growing for over 10 years i've realized that what works for you might not work for someone else. Just my 2 cents, Happy Growing Everyone!!!

You ever flush herbs before you pick them to eat? You ever hear of tobacco farmers flushing their plants? Me neither, don't flush, tastes great. Def do 48 hours of dark though.
i keep reading about the 2 days of total darkness in the end... whats this all about? what does this accomplish? is it only for soil? hydro? both?

Nope. Never had several days of darkness before harvesting my herbs either.

I'd just like to add that my dads weed can beat up your dads weed.
