You guys want to try phantom fur? Feeling fluffy when you're not can be rather confusing. I think a full coat of fur would be nice, rather than having being completely hairless as an ideal and we all miss the mark most of the time. All or nothing- one way or the other.

why do we need clothing


our environment provides us with conditions that surpass our ability to survive with out clothing


Clothing as a necessity for survival was at a time not to long ago

but not many people think about that

if i spent a full day in the cali sun without clothing or protection i would get sunburned. over and over again to the point of death, i would imagine.

i was just thinking, if we were truely "advanced", we'd at least have a nice coat of fur. even a light coat would help.

there is something about the human design that doesn't quite fit in with everything else around us.

why is there such a HUGE leap in intelligence between man and animal?

Actually the leap is tiny. We're not that blazingly more intelligent than chimps, elephants, dolphins, telemarketers ... it's just that we have a whole 'nother secret weapon: stories. We can tell stories. That is our edge and a cornerstone of history and technology. cn

You could simply look at it in the grand scale and ask why humans have evolved to be pretty much dead-man-walking should he encounter any other real animal. Maybe we don't have fur because we have evolved into the life of caves, fire, blankets, protection. Most animals out there have evolved specific survival abilities, such as horns, or armour, or the ability to go without water for prolonged periods etc. we have a brain and nimble fingers. We ued to be more furry.

Well does skin pigments come into play? Don't african people have darker skin to protect them from the dangers of the Uv rays ? well kinda lol
I notice that cooler climates have more " chubby" white people and warmer climates have much more thinner darker skinned people

why could they give dolphins the ability to speak. it's not like they would take over or anything. they couldn't even hold a hammer. but why not let them have a voice?

if you want to argue semantics, if the only problem is the environment. The it negates the "necessity" for clothing. Clothes would help in extreme environments, but if you left the environment, or built efficient heating devices, clothes then become a commodity.

All of us have "basic human needs". Protection from the elements, does not mean "wear clothes or you wont survive." This is the alternative fuel debate. We have oil so we think we need oil. If you lived in a tropical climate, would you need clothes, or would an umbrella due?

I don't blame you Fdd, he was trying to be helpful but I think a couple had an undertone of 'this is a stupid question'...

Some of us religious people believe man was created set apart from other animals. We obviously still share a common root- creationist or not, no one can deny we all have the same basic blueprint. Man is a pretty amazing creature in all he has perceived and created, but still has a couple of bugs and design flaws...

I think a short, smooth coat like light-type horse fur would be a good idea. Also, it's kind of boring we are one skin color all over. Flaunt it, you people with vitiligo. I like paint horses.
