wiring socket

I'll be wiring my new reflector/sockets to my ballasts this weekend - do I need to use special tape and wirenuts because of the heat (both 400w mh)? I have walmart wirenuts and 3M Utilities and Telecommunications : Scotch® Super 33+ Vinyl Electrical Tape - do I need better supplies? Am concerned about any vapors mingling with the plants.

You should be fine with any standard supplies, but dont cut any corners. I'm assuming that you're comfortable with doing the electrical work yourself?

Be careful, and make sure to double check everything you do to ensure that its all dont correctly before you plug it in.

Many companies tell their field techs to only use 3M Scotch-lock wire nuts. I don't know why, but they never fail and other brands do fail occassionaly.
