$2,500 is a lot of money to replace a 1,000 watt HID.

I would worry about dropping that much into a rig while the technology is evolving so fast. I've got a feeling the price of COBs will take a massive dip soon. When that happens, people won't be able to sell their old gear. Recycling will be the end of the road for HID ballasts & reflectors.

Granted, the AT600 is even older tech than COBs and it's still a really nice light...completely different everything than any other light on the market....NASA tested, UL listed -all that good stuff! It's a classic. But, yeah, the price has always been the sticking point on those lights...I always envied people who could afford them, though!

Yes it is the 3:2 w/r with 14 degree lenses but I just ordered the 50 degree lenses because to get a 3' clearance over the canopy I will have to have the light at the ceiling so there would be no leeway if I needed anymore space. The 50 degree lenses will give me more wiggle room in that area.
I know what you are saying about the cobs. I have been watching the posts but it seems they are still somewhat in the infancy stage of development and I don't know how much longer I will grace this planet. Already had 2 heart attacks and am a cancer survivor so I am splurging for the here and now. I ordered the light through ledgrowlightsdepot and with 10% off and free shipping the unit was $2200 out the door and delivered. I got the long style because my grow area is 3' x 6' so the light foot print fits perfectly.
To give my take on the age of its technology, yes it may be a bit aged but it is still the more established/proven currently on the market (imo) and I defy you not to be in awe the first time it is fired up. Kinda like being reborn. Just kidding.

3W diodes ran at 1.5W. LMK if it gets that 1.4 g/W that cobs get on average. $19usd for the Luminous 22 which is the same as a cxb 3590, at least thats what the tests have shown.
