My question about this setup would be whether it's ok to leave a weeks worth of nutes
i use a 30 gal trashcan, a pump with 6 site manifold and some tubing. i can go away about 2 weeks if needed. your biggest issue will be to find a nute regimen that is pH stable for that long (that took a bunch of trial and error for me)

May I ask what nute regimen you settled on? I used Advanced Nutrients' pH Perfect Grow Micro Bloom on my current soil grow and was considering their base nutes for this upcoming hempy attempt for the exact reason you mention. Yes, I am aware of the widespread criticisms of their pricing and marketing, but if it solves the pH stability issue, I'm willing to give them a go.

I've been thinking of making something similar. Do you have pics of your setup?

what works in my setup and my well water won't necessarily work in yours. just a FYI

h3ad's formula is stable for me. so was GH maxi bloom. and DynaGro foliage pro.

My grow space floor is 50 x 80 cm (1.6 x 2.6 ft), I'm thinking which would yield more, two autoflowers in 3 gal Hempys, or four autos in 2 gal Hempys? How much does the container size affect the final size? When growing in dirt it affects it greatly, but looking at people growing in Hempys the containers seem often quite small?

I dont think youll notice a difference, your feed probably plays a bigger roll than pot size in hempys, they wont root bound that easy so you’ll probably end up with similar looking plants in 2 vs 3 gallon buckets

you can grow in smaller containers in hempy pots, but you have to water more often...in a 3 gallon one watering a day is enough for most plants, in a 2 gallon pot, i would water once in the morning and again in the afternoon...
but autos are weird, some can take the same strength food you would feed a photoperiod plant, and some will scorch and burn at half the strength. i would guess that in two gallon pots, you would have to feed twice a day at half strength in most cases.

as to the yield? 1.5 x 2.5 feet isn't a lot...i would go with two and feed them as heavy as they would take, 4 plants would never have room in that area, unless they were tiny, which isn't a plus.

Yeah this rings true to me, I'll go with two 3 gallon ones. Thanks!

I had two WW autos in a 50 x 90 x 160cm / 20 x 36 x 62" and ran out of room. Autos can get a lot bigger than the typical height advertised.
I tried to pick a couple that would be less than XL sized (Fastbuds Blueberry and Wedding Glue), and I do plan to LST the hell out of them. Fingers crossed.

Autos have WAY too many inherent problems for me to grow them...The biggest is being at the mercy of a seed EVERY TIME YOU GROW....Seeds of course pull genetics from BOTH parent plants...They MIGHT be all good genes or all the worse ones, with something In-btwn being acceptable AT BEST....With photo period plants, YOU CAN clone the best of seed groups and then ONLY GROW known Good plants....And of course, an auto cant be cloned....
Someone mentioned nutes....Some autos can be very nute sensitive...Any LST has to be done in limitation and VERY EARLY....pruning during the point when they are starting to flower can hurt yields big time...Being autos YOUR NEVER SURE when they are going to start flowering, so if topping is in your plan, do it early as possible to get the branching you desire.....Its ALSO A FACT that containers too small for an auto can easily FORCE them to start flowering before they normally would....WITH ALL CANNABIS, Use container sizes that accomodate the size plants would like them to finish as....Your medium choice and buckets are a minimal investment, so there is NO REASON for short changing your plants....ANY SHORT CUTS with growing NEVER SAVES MUCH $$, but can really hurt your end results....
Have you ever considered photo period plants????....Prune, top, LST, all you want to fill your space, AND with the height you need to max out your yields....

Hello
I would like to ask questions about nutes

I can only have access to the below nutes
1) Maxibloom / Floranova Grow+Bloom
2) Jack's 20-20-20 for grow and 10-30-20 for flower
3) Dyna-gro foliage pro

Anybody have used all three? I've seen threads comparing Maxibloom vs. Foliage Pro and the writer ditched FP for Maxibloom because FP plants were growing at a MUCH slower pace. Please help me choose!

Jacks 20-20-20 and 10-30-20 would be lacking Calcium for use in Hempy
Dyna-Gro always seems to have mixed reviews when you talk to people off of the internet and the label vs Price doesn't seem to add up.
Flora Nova Grow/Bloom is a guaranteed success as well as the Maxi Series. You must consider if the biofilm the Flora Nova will leave is something you are willing to deal with. The Humic's and whatever else is in there that they won't disclose will stain your roots/media and leave a film on your buckets. That aside, the growth is fantastic :peace:
