number one, i don't think that is a real quote.

number two, obama's stance on legalizing weed was this:

1. don't sell to children
2. don't funnel the money to the mob, gangs, or cartels
3. don't move the weed to non-legal states
4. don't use it as a cover to sell cocaine, meth, and other drugs
5. don't get violent or use guns in the growing or selling
6. don't enable drugged drivers or junkies
7. don't grow on public lands and fuck that shit up
8. don't smoke or hold on federal property

anyone following these rules is welcome to legal recreational cannabis sales if their state is legal.

Buck is right on this one. Obama has made progress for MJ legalization in the US.

Give the man credit. He's the first president ever to speak out for MJ legalization. Give him his due. Let's be objective. Overall he's not my cup of tea, but he has helped our cause.

Or the part where if he'd been subject to the laws he endorses he'd never have been president.

Obama is Bush 2.0; Now with record numbers of raids on MMJ providers and moar warz!!!

You guys can fight over who gets the credit as long as it happens, that is what's truly important.

End the war on drugs and you solve overcrowding of prisons, more parents are home to raise children, it would completely change the landscape of Mexico for the average citizen, would free up billions of dollars to use on more important needs, would reduce the stigma us potheads face (would much rather ride in the backseat of a pothead over a drunk) and most of all, be a step in the right direction of restoring freedoms.

But if who gets the credit is the most important thing to the partisans, I doubt it will see the light of day. That's catnip to a politician.

No one is saying that Obama's words and actions have always supported MJ legalization. I'm just saying that more progress has been made under his administration than under any in the past. It's progress. And progress helps.

All other modern presidents have admitted to smoking pot, but still wanted to jail others for doing the same damn thing. Obama has at least made a dent in that.

But there's much more work to do.

What did he do?

All I see are states working to make it legal, raid after raid by the Feds, and him laughing at the notion of legalizing pot.
