A Nature Mill composter is a electronic composter that heats and aerates, to complete the process much faster than traditional compost. A typical batch takes about three weeks.

I'm still waiting for the toilet robot, hopefully it will have gentle cyclonic action..........and a warming buffer.

Organic vs Inorganic

Let me begin by stating that I eat as much organic as I can- fruits, veggies, milk, butter, meats, fish (no farm raised), cooking oils...

Plants have the ability to convert inorganic matter to energy, and since organic nute teas can be highly unstable (I know some of you will disagree) I switched to inorganic.

I now use Hydroponic Research VEG+BLOOM. It is a complete ONE part dry mix. No additives needed (though I am about to email them about Boron, which should be in it- and may well be). V+B is awesome, pH stable. One less thing to worry about. Mixing takes 2 minutes. Did I mention pH stable?

If you would like to try low pressure spray system, they clog with organics, restricting the grower to DWC; not that that is a bad thing, but it requires a fairly large rez to maintain stability
Though I do not grow this way or personally use their nutes, this stuff absolutely rocks and is definitely here to stay for some time.

Amazing results, quality finished product, very gentle ease of use.

This is literally one of the easiest, efficient and cost-effective ways to grow currently.

This way of growing isn't suited for my own personal preferences, but it is some awesome stuff that everyone should at the very least check out. The company rocks, and will blend nutes according to your tap water, etc.

Right, so my 'Purple Haze' decided to turn its feet up....not sure if it was a bad batch of CT or not. But its on it way back to recovery with a flush and a dose of Gypsum and molasses.

So there were no clones taken off it this time.

Will be planting a few of the better looking clones out in my outdoor spot next friday.....just cos im running out of room and i arent satisfied they are ready to be put into flower.

The gypsum seemed to put the clone with a Sulphur issue right....so thats one problem solved. :)

^^^^Sweet. Good call on the gypsum. I live in L'America and all we got is radioactive Chinese sheet-rock gypsum ;). I have to try an outdoor grow once. One day perhaps.

Lawl, you could probably put a remote phosphor lens over those 10,000k Whites (and the rest of the chips, but just saying) to shift the spectrum even more.

Wonder what the chip size is...

Nah, I know it's 50W, but the individual chips that they use could potentially be 32mil (Red), 35mil (Blue), 42mil (Red), 45mil(Blue) and the larger chips sizes are more efficient. Same wattage, more light, less heat. This is why I think it's important to know the chip size. I'll pay a little extra money for higher efficiency chips.

Nah, no sweat. I didn't know about chip size 'til recently.

Well, to my knowledge they don't make 45mil Red's. So if you have a combo of Red and Blue hopefully you've got 42mil and 45mil chips. Also, I've contact that eBay seller and asked whether or not they do customer specified ratios and what size their chips are. Hopefully I'll have an answer for you soon and clear up any doubt that we've got.

Guys where do you get this idea about die size affecting the ability to grow from? Linkage? I bet 630nm 14mils could grow plants if they're efficient enough. I guess there has to be a minimum somewhere due to physics or modern production techniques but I would think it's a dozen other factors that will clue you in on whether it puts out enough light to grow weed or not.

Just looking at the lumen/Watt rating of the same wavelength.
Those are actually the guys I'm in contact with. They quoted me at 42mil Red, 45mil Blue as their TOL, high lumen output version. They have a 32mil Red and 35mil Blue version for a little over half the price of the the other.

Never said smaller chips couldn't grow shit. As a matter of fact, given the price difference, I could buy TWO 100W LED's (32mil+35mil) for just a little more than ONE 100W LED (42mil+45mil) and get a shit ton more light. Personal preference.

^^ Interesting. I am currently vegging under 2 Utilitech 6.5w, globes removed last Friday. There are ~ 18 small diodes in each + one Philips 12w (60w equ). Since taking off the globes, the plants are rockin it

I saw a 100w equ (22w) Utilitech ($35) at Lowes yesterday. 1600 lumens, but it's remote phosphor, so cannot remove globe. I researched it on line, and will buy soon. Having a great led veg under ~ 25 total watts in a vanity fixture. Come by for a look

So today i Found that my 'compost bin clones' have rooted...they were throw outs...well they were...they will be planted in the spot next Friday. :D

Don't mean to derail the thread Kool, but I found this random manufacturer with a nice little chart listing a bunch of information making it very easy to compare chip size vs efficiency. Thought it might be interesting for some of us here. Same voltage, same current, same manufacturer, same CCT, different chip sizes, different lumen output. I find it interesting to see that all 45mil chips are not created equal. Wtf is that about?

with this number at 300W i will give them 2 seconds before the die
without Watercooling no chance to drive them at 300W
50 to 80 Watts will be the max power for this cobs.

Edit - I see what you mean now. How is that possible? I have no interest in actually buying one of these (they'd burn holes through my plants, I've only got a 2'x2' grow space with other lights to use), but I almost want to contact them and ask what the deal is with that figure and how they expect to cool it in a passive high bay fixture...
