Can i ask if 20FT cable from the DRIVER to the LED is ok?
I'm thinking 18AWG. The voltage calculators seem to show its only a very small voltage loss.
Also, are the LED cables safe to touch if 175VDC is coming out?

Hey guys I'm sorry for posting my findings without being properly prepared with all relevant data. The truth is I don't really concern myself with things like gpw as long as my plants grow like I expect them to.

I was merely pointing out my impressions from the grows I've completed with both lights, both lights produced "sufficient yields" for my purpose with the amare plants being a bit heavier.

However I was more pleased with the quality of the product under the Apache, in truth I don't think even a few side by sides is enough to really get a complete picture... Too many variables even with same strains, grow styles, environment etc. So for that reason I don't get hung up on stuff like that.

In my opinion both are good lights compared to most junk out there and both are a viable choice for a grow light.

Just realized, the DRIVER has the earth cable, which means the driver chassis is earthed right?
Can i connect a wire from the driver chassis to my aluminium chassis ?

Hey guys! I got my mau5-V kit in and I've begun my first DIY light build ;)

Forgot my measuring tape so I don't think I'll able to build the frame I don't got a drill on me either.. Might start wiring tho not too sure yet

So uh noob question... I'm trying to put on my plug end to the driver, and the colors are the same as in the growmau5 installation video.

Living in Europe I got a 16amp 230v plug end with the driver having black green and white wires

whats the question ?black is load, white is load and green is ground for 230v if it was 120v usa power the white would be common.show me a better pic of your driver on the power side, looks like it says black, white, green but i cant see for sure.should be pretty straight forward

The amare pulls 50 watts more, not less. Goodness you can't even quote correctly. 50 watts is enough energy to run a single COB. It ain't trivial. Why are you causing chaos.
I actually tried a 51w COB in my micro tent, it was complete shit compared to the 60w Hans panel I replaced it with.

nevermind that big ass fuckin plant in the pill bottle
How do you even get a plant that small?

Yea you are right, black and white is load and green is grounding or neutral or whatever lol I don't have too much experience with electrical stuff and just wanna be double sure- especially on the first build. Would much rather be on the safer side rather than causing an electrical fire in the apartment building I just moved in. I gotta go back to the store tho and get a different plug end :wall:

I was not fuckin talking to you was I? No i was not. I was talking to @Hybridway. He deleted the post that i quoted, because he was talking out his ass like usual, so i put him on ignore. I dont have time to play your little fucking kid games on here. I dont give a flying fuck what light you use. If it works for you then use the mother fucker. Keep my name out your mouth.
What scares me is people like you are allowed in societh. Man you really need to get a grip as this is how it starts. Pathetic individuals like yourself can't control your own anger then come here ranting Meaningless bs.

Hey guys I have a 4x8 gorilla grow tent and I want to fill the space with 3950 cxb cobs. I was reading that you need 50 watts per sq ft of space so if I'm running the cobs at 50 watts each then I would need 32 cobs for a 4x8 ?? Am I wrong ? That is a stupid amount of money and light to fill that small of a space . Timber grow light recommended 1000-1200 watts for a 4x8 so I'm confused because that would be 24 cobs for a 4x8 . Still ungodly expensive ? Any input that isn't way over my head is greatly appreciated here .

NG's should not be here recommending lights. Simple as that. You all just stir up problems & make new led guys run from this thread.
Now can we please get back to what matters. Guys w/ experience recommending lights based on experience. Thank you!

They are just mad at BigSmo because he posted real great results using the light they are all hating on.
