Hi guys got 9 plants under a 400w mh will be changing to 600w hps after flip. 5 are on day 38 but have another 4 in there on day 31. Got them in 6.5 litre pots should I veg them to 6 week and 5 weeks ? Or 6.5 weeks and 5.5 weeks? Not ideal being a week behind but only option at the minute. what’s the max veg time on 6.5l pot before they start to get rootbound?

you’re almost at max with 6.5L pots.
If your using soil I recommend upping to 18L pots BUT 9 plants in 18L pots won’t work under a 600w HPS.

What are you growing in? Soil? Coco? Hydro etc?

I finish 4 under 400w HPS in 11L pots I usually give between 4-6 weeks of veg and training and then flip them to 12/12.

this finishes me with a plant approx 2.5ft tall and about 1.5ft in total circumference.

Are you hand feeding?

If so with 6.5L pots you may have to water them twice a day once you’re in late flowering.

I have to water my 11L pots daily when my plants are midway through flowering.

coco needs to remain fairly moist all the time otherwise it can have a negative effect.

My advice is flower now if you’re staying in 6.5’s or upgrade to 11L pots minimum if you plan to veg any longer.

You should use bigger pots. One annoying thing about small pots is that they dry up very fast and if you got many of them, its a lot of work to water, especially if you cant mix larger amount of nutes at once or you got some automated system. Watering them through the jungle might be a pain in the ass anyways.

Im sure you could put larger pots in there, those plants will surely get wider than 6.5L pots. Get for example some relatively narrow but tall fabric pots about 11L minimum or if you could fit something like 18L square pots tightly togerther(just leave some like an inch room for air to move between them).
