Anyone else make blends with Sativa and Indica?

I can’t find the perfect weed. Well I did it was Blue Dream and I lost it some place so I resorted to mixing 50-50 Blue Berry with XJ13. On its own BB is too much Indica and XJ is too much Sativa. I like a good head body but without the Couch lock or the Anxiety. Seems to be working out pretty good.

I’ve never had the chance to explore blending, but I can say I favor both Sativa and Indica, it’s not an either/or issue. Looking forward to playing with it, looking forward to hearing others’ thoughts

I usually grind equal part of each and dial it according to strength. If one is super strong on either end of things I add more of the other yo balance it out

I've oftren wondered but never tried a serious test.

Do it man it comes out perfect! You dial it in just how you want it to be. Too sedating? Add more sativa. Too anxious? Add more Indica. The thing is I had a bunch of both but on their own I don’t really like either. Mixed and I love them!

Sounds like chasing waterfalls.

I prefer tobacco and the strongest flowers known to me in their independence so I can find the perfect flower.

Chem Dawg (the real one probably doesn't exist anymore), Sour Diesel or some Piff, Mr. Nice, ADUB, G13 Haze are all my top smokes.

I think maybe its more dependent on the harvest quality - ensuring all the terpenes are interacting providing quality fades since Samuel Caldwell

Some sativas are THC-only, combined with indicas their CBD content acts to counter-balance the head high.

Not using tobaccoo at all so that surely changes the rush... (when I try with t. my stomach turns badly)

Interesting name, TY. Sad history, hopefully reverted sooner than later.

I frequently mix my strains when I make edibles! I usually just smoke them as a salad bowl combo first, then if I like the effect I will make a batch of capsules or tincture.

For me - strain specific terpenes are very important. I guess this topic is subjective; as I am a diehard in letting the characteristics of independence shine through. I cannot dilute the effect

Why vape cartridge's are highly ineffective unless they are using strain specific terpenes. Cannabis derived.

*edit not saying the edibles are ineffective - apples to apples or whatever. But the effect may be - confusing?

I always love the flavors and tastes I get, but as a medical grower, I want something very specific, and rather than looking for a catch all strain, I grow what sounds neat and then do my best to turn it into medicine. I always keep some individual and well labelled nugs to experience flavor. Then I know what to buy repeats of!

Right - I don't think there will be a catch all strain only effective strains for certain things. Either way I can't bring myself to blend flowers together in a mixture. Maybe someday I will try it out of curiosity now and will come back and report to this thread.

Mixing flowers, tobacco and hashish - that's another story :bigjoint:

Well the way that I look at it I can hit things just right with a heavy Indica and heavy Sativa. I mix em usually 50/50 but sometimes I want a lil more chill and sometimes I’m not ready for bed. The Indica takes off the edge of the Sativa and I don’t get that burn out from heavy Indica. Like I said I ended up with a decent amount of both heavy Indica and heavy Sativa and wasn’t a huge fan of either which is how this all took place. Instead of just bearing with it and being dissatisfied I did this. Worked great

Do you ever mix spices to enhance a dish? Try it just once and see! You might get a whole new kinda high!

Mixing strains is one of the best parts of growing your own! If you haven't been doing this, start trying out different combos and ratios, it will open up a whole new world to you. And keep some high cbd weed on hand for experimentation.

I think the best part of growing ur own is the control you exhibit over the quality not really mixing a bunch of flavors together. I was never one to walk up to a pop dispensar and fill it with every carbonated option - even though I know I was fond of each flavor.

to each their own - but I can’t mix my flowers like that into a blend... It seems to me like that would diminish the quality and hard work, making for a sub-standard blend of mediocrity

I have seen a “legal brand” make mixed pre-rolls before and their goal wasn’t to get a cool effect it was to throw different product together - 10% was good kush and the rest was filler weed mixed with concentrates

Not all indicas are sedative, and not all sativas are energizing; the indica/sativa thing is a myth. For instance sativa dom Apollo 13 put me down; and indica dom blackberry kush is some of the lightest weed I’ve smoked. Blue dream makes me sleepy.
It comes down to the plant’s combination of cannabanoids and terpines. Most everything these days is a hybrid of both sat/indy anyway

I mix 'salads' all the time. I enjoy smoking a single strain of course, but more and more I've found myself mixing it up to get the balance of effects that Im looking for. I like to have a nice 1:1 thc:cbd strain around, especially for during the day, then I'll mix with more potent strains for the high I want at the time. Highly recommend.
