DEATH ROW:

View attachment 36809

These have been found guilty of trying to impregnate Redfoxx's harem. They are to be executed this very night with no further delays...

11/7/07 Update
Another male has been discovered and put on death row. But fortunately a beautiful female replaced him which has been vegging in my CFL closet. So I have 2 very good looking girls so far and suspect 2 more.

Haha classic!

Looking great fox! Your drip system looks a lot like mine, I wish I had seen that tutorial on bghydro before constructing mine though. I didn't even use a timer on my pump like they suggested. How frequent and for how long do you run your drip system? I only ran mine for about 3-4min once a day. Now I feel like that probably wasn't enough.\

EDIT: NVM, I just now noticed that you said you run it for an hour every morning. But I also noticed you said you use an airstone in the res. Does this help keep the water from going stale?

Yep that's a great article. Adding air to your water is great. Like you said, keeps it from going stale and it's great when you pour in a new res to mix up the nutes real well....as well as plants loving air in general.

I'm also adding some liquid silicon right now as NGT recommended, sopposed to keep the plants strong and resistant to pH, nute imbalances and diseases as well as making the plant strong in general.

I'm gonna put the system on a timer this weekend, when I have time to access the room. I made a stupid mistake and set it to start the HPS light at 7 am and shut off at 7 pm....well thanks to daylight savings, that changed to 6 am....i'm home at 6:15pm and wake up at 7.....so that gives me only an hour to let it run and then I have to shut it off. So don't be afraid to leave it for an hour or longer....no harm done.

Thanks for replies guys....I hope this journal is proving helpful to others.

Sorry, haven't updated in a while....here they are...

Basically I got them on a drip timer right now....it waters them for 2 hours every 10 hours...so twice in 24 hours...

I'm a little concerned why the top couple of leaves are droopy...and why on the other plant, the leaves look morphed...

Otherwise they're beutiful and are flowering as you can see....about 2 weeks here...

Some new pics...

I think i know why my plants upper leaves look cupped and twisted....i had the fan blowing directly on them and my fan is non-oscillating (i know i know i should go to walmart) so the air is constantly on that plant and blew pretty hard...

I checked for possible moisture problems....all is good all leaves feel nice and moistured no dryness of any sort, have 2 drippers plugged in for this one.

It's getting lots of buds everywhere :)......i hope i don't do something stupid in the upcoming weeks.

Hmm well after a little thinking about the slight curling and help from NGT and friends.....and seeing how the curling is very regional to the top 2 nodes....I think it might be the distance the top of the plant is from the light. What do you guys think?

Currently the top of the flower is 1 foot 2 inches away from a 600w HPS....is that a problem? A

However I did change the fan position and it's no longer blowing as hard on the plant and it seems a little better to me, no?

you might want to raise it about 2-3 inches and see how your plants react....when in doubt go the conservative route

Well did just that and raised the light the last couple of inches....but also flushes as NGT and skunkyshybrid suggested.....that worked. Here are the updates....they're looking beautiful :) :leaf:

looks good bro. I've been flushing every other day, noticed some build ups that needed to go, and just kept in the routine. So raising the light helped as well you think? What are the temps like?

Hey bud,

What build up are you noticing? All I see in my tank for example is a tiny amount of crystalized salt which has evaporated underneath the res lid. I think it depends on the nutes. Which are you using? I'm using Ionic nutes heres and they're awesome, no buildup whatsoever, cheap and requires 1 bottle per cycle. Very good pH balance too, they have 2 varieties, for hardwater (such as mine with high pH pH 9+, no soap bubbles) and soft (pH ~7 and soap foam bubbles form easily under it).

The plants are looking excellent this morning, the droopiness is gone completely. The larger one is getting taller, it has grown 2 inches in 4 days that I was gone. I will be putting some string along the top so as to create a net and possibly stop it from growing further up. It's upper flower is exactly 1 foot away from the light which is a little unsettling to me. She seems to like that just fine however, but always better to play it safe.

The left one is mushrooming in width and flowers, the right one is a little retarded in flower formating and just formed it's long hairs. NGT has pointed out that my middle one has some HEAVY sativa strains in it, which is weird, but explainable. I bought these seeds from amsterdaamseeds when I was just starting out and had no idea where to get them. They sent me the seeds in a plain dime bag, the seeds looked great, but had no packaging at all, so I'm thinking they were mixed varieties. Others look indica but the middle one looks nothing like her sisters.

Oh well, I'm hoping to harvest in a month.

Yeah I had a small amount of salt build up, but not in the res, the bottom of the rw, it's gone now though. Glad to hear the droopiness is gone.

Those are looking great Red!! I'm glad you're surviving your grow, LOL. That's gonna be some sweeeeeeet smoke in a couple of months.

Hey pimp!

Long time no see. Thanks for the compliments :)

I really hope it won't take a few months though heh. I'm off on a 2 week vacation starting end of December.

Ahh new flowering pics :)

They look even better in RL. I'm using an old Canon a70 cam with only 3.2 MP. Some pics have funky colors and look almost purple b/c that's with flash. I believe this is 5 weeks into flowering.

hey Red....very cool grow....i was wnodering if you could help orient me a little...you strted out telling the days since sprout and stuff...but then I was too lazy to sit and watch the dates of the posts and calculated back....how many days did you vege, and at what stage are the last pics in flowering now? thanks! :blsmoke:
Right before flowering....most of them...

Well did just that and raised the light the last couple of inches....but also flushes as NGT and skunkyshybrid suggested.....that worked. Here are the updates....they're looking beautiful :) :leaf:

Well I believe i vegged for 3 weeks, about 4 for the tallest one you see. This is about 4th week or 5th of flowering. This is very approximate.

awesome...thanks for filling in the gaps for me...'preciate the info! still setting my benchmarks in my brain, and on my first gro...so its' all helpful.

Thanks for comments guys!

Here's a new batch of pics. You can tell I'm enjoying taking these. The leaf cupping down on a few plants has returned....must be salt buildup again even though I flushed a day ago. They're hungrily eating nutes now. Mixed a 1.8 solution last morning, today it was at 1.5, that's .3 EC in 24 hours. I'll flush them tomorrow anyway.
