You gotta slow your roll kiddo lol.I know you wont....because I never !!!! Luckily I can think my way out of just Bout anything.Like the first 2 or three grAnd I spent on everything I thought I needed because I had it all figured out .You can save yourself lote of time and heart ache man of you just take er cool.Listen to these fellas .and just get to growing because if you think money and Google growing 101 is all it takes ,these plants and all the unforeseen shit that comes along with anything worth doing in life is just gonna put you in your place .Just remember whenevr you think you have everything figured out ,just give it a minute lol take all the advice you can man from these old bastards lmao

Yup my kids stepdad just about went bankrupt because he kept buying equipment without waiting to see how his first crop goes. I tried to tell him what was essential and cheap but he went spend crazy and didn't make as much back as he thought

I really think for the first round(s) just setting up the 240W indoors in a 2x4 tent would make things a lot simpler. Could be up in running within days instead of weeks. And 99% chance after he gets some experience under his belt, that he will have a different idea for the shed build. But hey, who am I to deprive someone of learning things the hard way?

I am as stubborn as they come, and am currently suffering through it myself by not listening to one of my homies on trying out flowering in 1gal pots. I only did a few plants but man is it a pain in the ass having to water them sometimes twice a day, and then having to constantly feed them since there is nothing left in the soil.

The hard way is the only way for me!!!!! When I startred back up growing and did the same as him read my assd off,horny as he'll to get in there !!? I had 4 indoor grows under my belt 10 years prior in Promox drain to waste( didn't know thats what it was at the time,before the new world of cannabis knowledge lol) And they went e flawless ,how I did it is beyond me !No shit I grew I'm clear ice cream containers strike one,no ventilation period strike 2,no fans whatsoever in a 5x 5 closed hood 1000 hps open reflector strike 3, fed miracle grow nutes every watering strike4,on cold basememt floor strike 5 ,tap water full of chlorine strike 6, the list goes on and I never had a problem so help my god.I found the rootball in an old shed out back actually couple !months ago and you would sware renfro had grown the damn thing lol ,absolutely perfect looked like it came out of a grow video made by pros!! I still have it for anyone wan t s to see it lol (can you mount root balls like deer heads)? :D Then the time had come I got the time to give it a goo after reading for a year or more ,figured I was gonna knock it out of the park with organic living soil, NOPE!!!!!! I spent so much money in little bits here and there buying this stuff and that stuff .I bet I spent 700 bucks at the dolla store!!!!! Anyway short story long lol I pissed thousands down the dra I n chasing deficiencies ,novelty shit ,just impulse buys I would read something and oh us t hats gonna fix my problems .Only thing fixed my problems were my problems .Very dangerous waters for someone with a young family and access to cash or credit .This shit ain't no joke.the old pr omix grows cost me about 400 bucks that includes power usage LMFAO

I spent countless nights when I was younger calculating how much I was gonna harvest, all the shit I was gonna buy, month long vacations you name it. Then reality set in. I was using 2nd (or 3rd hand) grow equipment, bulbs way past their prime, and zero environmental control. Still managed to grow some killer herb but it never was more than I could smoke between rounds. The HPS and AC electricity bills made it so I wasnt actually saving money vs just buying from my friends so I was sporadic at best. Then I had the super fun experience of my then 3yo son telling his daycare teacher, "My Daddy has some GIANT plants in his closet and the light is very bright!". Cue an extremely pissed ex (who luckily was friends w the teacher), and another round bites the dust after lots of time and $ invested and no harvest :( I gave up for about 10 years until I had the extra income to be able to buy everything I needed to do things the right way, and not cut any corners. On top of that, my son is now in a situation where he needs cannabis oil to have a semi normal life, and providing him with the best quality meds possible wasnt something I was gonna leave in someone elses hands. The ex has also done a full 180 and now fully supports and endorses it, and loves doing the trimming ;) Patience. It pays off.

I can tell ya right now that there be an tons of dank grown by myself And the real OG s long before a hep a filter was invented !!!!!. that's not so nothing he needs to hear right this second as far as I'm concerned but maybe I'm just a dick.long ways to go before he needs a hep a filter for intake ffs

Man I hadn't had any mites or pm in 18yrs then got mites last fall, aphids this winter then pm this last run smh. Mostly my fault though for taking clones back that a friend held for me till I got rid of mites. Checked em all over good but fuckers were hibernating or some shit. Got lots of experience though lol

That was good advice that @Snob gave the OP. Pest prevention should be a top priority if someone is looking to have a successful grow. And if the OP is pulling fresh air from outside as he plans to (he did mention an intake filter in his original post), running that air through a HEPA filter before it enters the grow space will go a long way in helping to keep pests out of there (and as he may know he also needs to be careful when/if he brings in new clones and of course with what he brings in on his person).

Speaking of unforeseen shit (in addition to being invisible without substantial magnification) , have you ever seen the damage that broad mites and russet mites can do to an indoor grow?

I am not questioning your "flawless/perfect" grows. People have been growing this shit long before you and I were born. Everyone and their mother claims to grow the "best" weed in the universe. Im sure you being a veteran, you have seen your fair share of pest damage where it results in a total crop wipe.

One of my friends likes to save money on electricity in the winter by pulling in cold outside air. This works great when its super cold out. But when he did this in spring/summer, the roses next to the intake vent outside were covered in PM which went unnoticed. This resulted in PM being introduced to his whole crop.

Another friend took in a healthy looking clone which had Russets. Looked healthy, nobody bothered to scope it with a microscope. Three months later hes having to decide if maybe its best to kill all his plants in veg.

This shit is no joke. You dont want to have a proper IPM or take per cations because you are 'old school' by all means do you. But dont let keeping a sterile environment strike any 'nerves'.

I have been fighting them this whole grow on two oc x cd for some reason they love them I had to biff one and now I keep the other as a decoy.they don't leave it or havnt yet .nuke em twice a week slows em down for couple weeks.dummie plant is best be t if you notice they have tendecies.that's just my opinion though Trying to get the kid to focus on the very first baby steps not spending money on bunch of shit before he even knows if he can sprout a seed lol. But your right when he kills his plants before they ha v e seof three fingered leaves at least he got a hepa!!! If you read what was going on you would realize boys are trying to steer him into slowing down and taking it as it comes , but you know what I will apologize again sorry man just did that myself put the cart before the horse,kids in his shoes get info overload and can t prioritize because how could they .so please tell me how your right some more please !!! Wlamart got 100 pnd co2 tanks on buy 10 get free hep a filter !!!! maybe we go pick him up tm and take him ?? You down??? Message me you wanna argue.
