A 250 CFM Axial fan for $75

Here you all go a 250 CFM Axial fan that is real quiet for $66 and you go down to Home Depot and get two parts to make it fit in your grow tent. You will need (1) 6 inch to 4 inch Duct reducer and (1) 6 inch duct spacer. Rig and screw the spacer and reducer together and screw in the fan to the spacer. So for $75 you get a 250 CFM axial fan and save yourselves $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. http://www.customavrack.com/Products...an-6-inch.aspx :hump:

You betcha it does, its made to cool server and network switch racks, up to 16 servers in a rack enclosure. So you tell me.

Sure it will NEWBGROWER. How are you coming up with your calculations? You must me a promoter of hydroponic equipment and thats why you are dogging equipment. Let me explain for the newbies. A 4x4x6.5 grow tent needs 104 CFM to cool the tent, so a 250 CFM Axial fan is more than enough. If you need charcoal scrubbing then you will need to calculate 104 x 1.5 = 156 CFM for charcoal scrubbing and again way underloaded Axial Fan. Its only math!

You clearly don't understand how weak those fans are. I am not promoting anything, just trying to save people time. And don't let my name mislead you.. Not a newb here Your math doesn't mean crap when it comes to properly moving air and removing its smell. And your tent/cfm formula is laughable.... Needed CFM for a tent 4x4 would change if you were to use say a 400W compared to a 1000W. Learn a tad more before you post ;]

OK NewbieGrower since you know so much, what CFM would be recommended for a 4x4 grow tent? Can't wait to hear this one.

If you attach a carbon scrubber to that fan the static pressure should be high enough to basically make the fan NOT work. Your CFM will drop way down (at least half) if it can even blow through the filter that is. You can get cheap and just use carbon filter in sheet form but that isn't a scrubber. Your fan will not cool a 400watt light, scrub all the air and exchange it in a 4 x 4 tent. I see guys on here making these claims, but they must live in a different world than I do.

a carbon scrubber will choke out that little fan .
Go ahead and buy it . We will see you back in a couple weeks on how you wasted $75

I can guarantee you that you will not cool a tent that is 4x4x6.5 with that fan.

For another $5 you get something a lot better, but it still won't do the trick

Once again Twistedwords is putting out crappy advice and arguing with those that try to offer their experience. Not only will the scrubber pretty much negate the fan, the 4" reducer will restrict additional air flow. Inline fans by themselves w/o a long duct run can move air, just not like you think.

Twisted claimed in another thread he was 40 years old and has been growing for 30 years, so we should all heed his advice....

I find his advice laughable at best...

And I'm still awaiting his journal update. He posted some bud porn on day one in a journal entry and has yet to show any other pics. I suspect he lifted the pics from the net and has no grow to show. He is a young poser....

that fan won't work. Maybe if your growin with CFL's..... I'm running 800w HPS in a 4'x4' 55" tall flower room. I am using 2, yes, two 471 CFM fans. One for exhaust, one for cooling my lights. My temps are around 77-82..... That's 942 CFM total air movement...

lol, I'd HATE to see what my temps would get at with your little fan.....

Oh and you say you spent $75 on this little bitch????? lol, I paid Less than $53 INCLUDING tax for my 471 CFM fan.....

Well it works for me and cools just fine, so there you go.
Yea but what lights are you running????? If you've got 1, 42W CFL in there then yea..... It's probably working just fine!.. lol

Sure when I get home from work I will as I am posting to you from work right now. Luckily I don't have to pay for these fans as I work in Information technology and have access to many server rack fans. they work just fine as they are designed to cool server racks which require much more heat exhaust then cooling a tent. More like cooling 32 servers in a rack. Thanks for the link to the inline duct booster, but you can get those at home depot.

Oh and for the record your link to this inline 6inch fan apples to apples has less CFm then mine as mine puts out 250 CFM and the one you linked only puts out 188 CFM for a 6inch fan. So no yours isn't more powerful.
