Hay there @Budzbuddha, I also own a SF-1000. I have used it for a whole run, in a small closet grow last winter. It created amazing, dense buds. On a 1 plant grow. But this SF-4000. Was a prize win here on a RIU. I have not touched the bottom side wi the diodes at all. So no dirty finger smudges or anything else. Its strait up melting the glued on diodes, I'm assuming. It is a scary Possible Fire hazard. That I will not keep running...!! I will still run there sf1000 though. Because it hasn't shown a similar issue. I don't think they will replace a contest win light.? I will email them in a day or so when I ain't busy. And see what they say. Seriously though, I Have a half a mind to send my free prize back to them.. so they can possibly not burn my house down...

And I'm not mad at spiderfarmer whatsoever, it's just a serious concern for ME personally. But I did mention yesterday that "maybe I might be overreacting"

I am a certified electrician did the marks appear after you used it or did it come that way? they do a bench test before they can be UL certified if you can get a laser thermometer check all the strips at full power and see if its a hotspot also get a smoke detector for your room just in caseBecause, exactly that! Hay Bud, those yellow streaks appeared after approximately 50 hours of usage. It is spreading by the week of minimal usage. Its pretty apparent that it's glue literally melting down. I'll unplug it until for now. So I can sleep without worrying. Thanks for your insight though!

I already had a house fire from an electrical issue awhile ago. Luckily we were there and my wife smelled if before it got too bad. It was exciting for the neighbors, lol.

It was a rental but still. I went back at night a week after when they were fixing it to feed my oscars and change the batteries on the air pumps I had set up. The power was turned off so we went in with flashlights. I went in my bedroom where the tank was and there was a shocked Mexican dude in our bed. I was like WTF, lol.
