Lol I'm male. I get that all the time because of the a at the end.

I didn't tell anyone what was coming, but even though I'm in a nice neighborhood, we get a lot of foot traffic bc it's near a main street. People park on my street then walk the half block to the main street, they work at a nearby restaurant. You can see my front door from that street, even though I have a long driveway, so I'm guessing it was just a random passerby or one of those workers.

It was resolved, so no big deal. I really doubt that would happen if I had went with an overseas company. I'd have to wait weeks for a replacement if I ever got one at all. I hope the UPS driver at least dropped the package a few times so that fucker didn't get a working unit lol. When I wrote HLG they said one of their customers just sent them a vid of the UPS guy delivering their light by tossing it over the fence 15 feet to the front door. Like a friggin newspaper.

And when they sent the replacement, both HLG and I requested an ID be shown to accept delivery. They never even knocked, still left the package out and didn't send the text notifications to alert me my package arrived. Thank God it wasn't stolen again.

Ive got 320 watts of HLG qb's up in my 2x4 tent right now, cost me $250. If you want to build your own light, you can get 600 true watts of led power with 8 HLG qb120's and 2 320 watt drivers. No heatsinks needed, company right here in America with great customer service :blsmoke:

At least HLG took care of you right away. Build a Soil is just as cool about that stuff. I've had issues with my delivery guys so BAS put a special note in my account and will ship everything FedEx if I ask. A delivery took a day longer than it was supposed to due to the delivery service, left it out under my mailbox when it was cold, and it was vermicompost. I told BAS and they send me another one right away FedEx. The first one is still totally good, but the slight cold might of killed a few microbes or critters.

You gotta love that kind of customer service, especially with something big like a light.

You're running the boards even without the aluminum heatsinks? As in the kits that come strictly with the board

I didn't, there was someone home. I requested specific instructions for them to knock/ring doorbell and not to leave package unnattended the first time. UPS didn't follow them. Nor did they follow them the 2nd time when requested from both ends.

One of the big reasons I went with the qb120's was because they didn't require a heat sink, saved me a good bit of money not having to purchase them. I'm fixing to build a new light frame, and I'm gonna go ahead and purchase a sheet of 1/8" aluminum to make some heat sinks. HLG says they aren't required, but I would imagine their lifespan improves with the use of them. I do have a box fan directly over my lights that blows down air 24 hours a day, I imagine that helps.
I've got one each of the qb288 r spec and b spec, they're pretty sweet. I do run heat sinks on them. Eventually I'll replace my qb120's with the 288's, but I was able to get a great quality light relatively cheap to get me started. They are sold on Amazon, I believe they're $120 shipped for 4.

The 120's should be able to get a lot closer too. I don't have any, but I love them too. I have all 288's now.

I've been wanting to get some of the QB 120's. I was going to grab some for my veg tent but I wanted 3500k and they were OOS so decided to try some DIY strips. What height from canopy do you run them?

Same here. I've been tempted to get some of those or the 132's even though I don't need them. It would be fun to build my own light like that.

I was running them about 12"-16" above canopy. Then I got the Solacure uv lamp, and its supposed to be 24" above canopy. So thats where they are.
If I run my 288 bspec anything closer than 24" the plants don't like it. 120's can definitely be run much closer.

Ya, I still have an HLG 260 V1 in 3000 to build, and another I already built still in boxes, and then some. I couldn't help myself when the V1's went on sale. I have 2 135's in 5000 in my 2x4 veg tent and they kick ass.
